The First Amendment -
10-24-2011, 07:42 PM
I am deeply offended by parts of The First Amendment, and i am sure the most Christians are offended by it as well, its content oppressing against The United States of America and its Christian citizens
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
Here is some things in The First Amendment that offends me:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
- This law forbids America to be a 100% Christian country, should instead be: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion except Christianity, all other religions prohibited
freedom of speech
- The Bible does NOT allow free speech, blasphemy for example should be punished by death
or of the press
- Fox News should be the only legal news source, all others should be banned
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble
- This law legalizes satanic orgies
and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
- When the USA has become a 100% Christian country under God, there shouldnt be any law allowing opinions against it, the punishment should be death

I'm with you on this one, Proud. The Founding Fathers were on their knees all the time, praying no religion execept the Christian Protestant one would be practiced.
They did not put it in the Constitution because it was taken for granted we would all be Protestant Christians. The Baptist Church was growing at the time, so they thought the liberal denominations would die out.
What a disappointment this has not happened.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Religious freedom doesn't mean freedom from religion. I think the founder's usage of the word "respect" is a bit unclear. When the founders wrote "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" it actually means everyone should have the freedom to have religion imposed on them, and the freedom to impose their religion upon others. I would hate to live in a nation where I was forced to not have religious beliefs imposed upon me. The important part is to emphasize the "free exercise" part.
Once people are no longer forced to not be able to force their religion on others, true freedom can begin. Anything less than that is oppression of Christianity.
What happened to our freedom? Such as the freedom to exercise stoning gay people, or the freedom to own a slave, or the freedom to burn witches. What about the witches' freedom to be burned and to have religion imposed upon them? This is like a library, where you can have all sorts of religious texts, and people can read all sorts of religious texts. In the same sense, people should be able to practice all sorts of religious practices and have the freedom to exercise having religion imposed upon them.
Likewise, the media should also have freedom. For example, they should have the freedom to praise God and Jesus, and support Republican politicians. They should also have the freedom insult Democrats and false religions outside of Christianity. There are some things however that are not covered under the first amendment, like yelling fire in a crowded theater, because doing this is dangerous. Similarly, while we should indeed have freedom, we should have certain modest and reasonable standards to ensure public safety, such as making sure the media doesn't insult Republicans, insult God, or support Democrats, since doing so would invite natural disasters and therefore is equivalent, if not greater in terms of danger to yelling fire in a crowded theater or making death threats. The right to swing your fists ends with the other man's nose begins, you shouldn't be able to use your speech in a way that demonstrably kills others or damages them.
I also support freedom of speech! For example, people can freely decide whether they want to praise God or Jesus, or freely decide which Republican politician they want to vote for, or freely decide which Democrat to insult and what insults to use. The possibilities are endless!
I completely support the right of people to peacefully assemble just like the founders did. Of course, some very limited activities might appear peaceful, like gay orgies or gay pride parades, but in reality, they are actually very violent, and are assaulting citizens with AIDs virus, indecency, etc. Freedom also means my freedom to not have their indecency imposed upon me.
Close minded people are just right people who don't want to spend time arguing.

We need to scrap all the amendments except the Second and start again from there. When you think about it, the Second Amendment is really the only worthwhile part of the whole Constitution, although I did like the Three-Fifths Compromise. The blacks still hoot and holler about that one.
