A list of superpowers we'll get from Jesus. -
05-13-2017, 07:47 AM
I was, of course, reading the Bible today. I came across the story of Jesus cursing the fig tree in Matthew 21.
The Lord reminds us that we too have the power to move mountains and wither trees. We probably could have used that in Vietnam. Too bad there were no True Christians over there.
Quote:
Matthew 21:19-21
19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

What other special powers do we get with Christianity? I would like to write this up into an article.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Well, we will be able to look at the sun and not go blind, since we will forever look upon our Savior, and Matthew 17:2 tells us that His face was like the sun.
I don't know if that means we will have sun heads also, but it would appear likely. Creation science is firm in its foundation that whatever image our Lord is, so we will be, since that's how He created us. If God was a Galapagos tortoise, that's what we'd be, too. Of course we aren't, so we know God isn't a tortoise. Even if he is slow to anger. ROFL
I heard a pastor preach once that we will be able to will ourselves to be someplace and that's where we'll be. So like, I could be watching Bill Clinton burn in hell one second and then be eating a Nathan's hot dog with some hot True Christian™ lady in the new Aruba the next.
Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”
Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man. Amen and Amen

Thank you for the reminder, Pastor. I'll start collecting gold from the fishes to fund my, er... missions to convert the wine moms who might have turned their backs on Jesus (Matthew 17:27).
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

I certainly thank the Lord in my prayers for nuclear weapons that kept us commie free until Godly Ronald Reagan brought down the Soviet Union.
While we probably can't as yet be a fast as Jesus in destroying a fig tree, we can thank Him for Monsanto RoundUp - which can do an adequate job. We also can't forget Agent Orange that we used in Vietnam to keep the gooks from hiding in the jungle foliage.
Monsanto's RoundUp in sufficient quantities could also be used in place of salt to make sure your enemies don't return when you destroy their cities.
Quote:
And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.
- Judges 9:45

In addition to Jesus Himself being raised from the dead, the Bible records nine other instances of people rising from the dead (1 Kings 17:22; 2 Kings 4:33-36; 13:21; Matthew 27:52; Luke 7:11-17; 8:40-56; John 11:43-44; Acts 9:40-41; 20:9-12). Clearly, bringing someone back from the dead is not beyond God’s, and thus our, power today. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8).
In John 14:12, Jesus declares, “Joh:14:12: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” So, since we are still capable of raising the dead, and since Jesus promised that God would perform great miracles through Jesus’ followers – yes, raising the dead is still possible today.
I myself have raised 8 people from the dead. I thought this was an entirely natural ability for all Christians but, surprisingly, several people whom I told were skeptical that I had achieved this and had the nerve to ask for proof!
My last resurrection was of an elderly man killed in a highway accident with a semi - it was, as you might imagine, a complete success, other than most of his bones were broken. I am not too sure about mending broken bones, as this is not mentioned in the Bible, so I had little choice but to leave him with my blessing and a prayer to Jesus.
I did video the resurrection but Youtube took it down after the wailing of the recently dead man upset some atheists.
