There are no contradictions in the Bible! -
03-20-2013, 03:35 AM
If you think you see something that is contradictory, it is your lack of reading comprehension.
We as Christians are better people and we have a better understanding God's Holy Word than you. We have the Holy Spirit guiding us in our Bible studies. Therefore, we know the Bible does not contradict itself ever!
This is pretty amazing considering the Bible was written over thousands of years among different writers.
This is proof that our God is the right one and yours is false.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Amen brother! The Holy Bible is the PERFECT word of God. It is the most read book in the history of the world, and the most attacked.
And yet after thousands of years, the Holy Bible still stands. No one has been able to tear it down, and they never will! Glory!
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

The only time I ever see a "contradiction" is when someone is taking scripture out of context.
For example the Judge not that ye be not judged
Now if someone had read the whole scripture, rather than just bits and pieces, they would know what the Truth© was.

I'd like to see the atheist that could pull off showing a contradiction in the Bible here at Landover and think they're going to get away with it. They don't know what it's like to be confronted with true Bible Warriors washed clean of sin in the Blood of the Lamb©.
Why just the other day I was confronted with this idea that Jesus came back to life in different ways depending on which gospel you read and events at the empty tomb simply don't match. I had to struggle to stop laughing as the atheist had no answer to the simple assertion that God's word is perfect and if he can't explain what he found then it is his failing. He stood there dumbfounded as I offered to pray for him. Another victory for Jesus!

Amen. Only Bible-believing Christians are qualified to fully comprehend God's Word. No wonder non-believers find fault with the Holy Bible with every turn of the page! Without the Holy Spirit guiding their discernment, they read with a mind turned toward worldliness. It says so in I Corinthians.
I Corinthians 2:12-16
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
You'd think by now, they'd quit trying to nitpick God's perfect Word and just take our expert (i.e., Christian) conclusion that there are, indeed, no flaws or contradictions in the Bible. Without believing in the Bible, making an analysis of Its contents is bound for failure before they even get out of the gate.
If you don't believe in the Bible, you are not qualified to have an opinion on this matter.
II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power
The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony

FTFY.
The Bible is full of contradictions, which is why I’m no longer a Christian. I was impressed with the purity and coherence of the Qur’an. Christians are very critical of other so-called “sacred texts,” such as the Book of Mormon, and can easily detect blatant contradictions in these writings, yet when it comes to the Bible, they apply a completely different standard. And they resort to the same old tired excuses to explain away obvious mistakes.
1) I’ve often heard the more-than-one argument. For example, Matthew, Mark and Luke place the cleansing of the temple at the end of Jesus’ (pigs be upon him) ministry, but John places it at the beginning. How does the Christian fix this? I don’t know what Landover’s position is, but many Christians say there was more than one cleansing: there were two cleansings, one at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, when he used the whip to drive people out, and one at the end. Some even think Jesus (pigs be upon him) was anointed with oil three times, because otherwise the gospel accounts contradict each other.
2) Some ascribe contradictions to transcription errors. A common example would be in regard to the age of Ahaziah when he became king. Two ages are given: 22 and 42 (2 Kings 8:26; 2 Chronicles 22:2). Christians often argue that there was a copying error made in the original Hebrew text. But it is still an error and a contradiction and proves that you have only fallible texts available. How do you know whether copying errors have been made that you don’t know about?
3) Another common tactic is to say that the original Hebrew or Greek word means something different from the English translation, such as when Jephthah sacrificed his daughter. Judges 11:31 “Whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.” Some conveniently claim it should read, “Whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord's, or I will offer it up for a burnt offering.” Allah would never condone such a repugnant vow.
4) If a contradiction is too hard to explain away, just claim it was a miracle, just like when in the Bible God told Noah (pigs be upon him) to build the ark too small to hold all the animals just so that he could miraculously squeeze them all on board anyway.
5) If it’s still too hard to explain, just claim that man cannot possibly understand God, he is beyond comprehension.
Some of the contradictions in the Bible include:
1) Was it God or Satan who moved David to take a census?
2 Samuel 24:1 And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
1 Chronicles 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
2) Which of the prophets said the Messiah would be a Nazerene?
Matthew 2:23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
What scripture is Jesus (pigs be upon him) quoting here?
John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
3) Has anyone ever seen God?
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Exodus 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
1 Timothy 6:16 Whom no man hath seen, nor can see.
Exodus 33:23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
Exodus 33:11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.
Genesis 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
4) Can God be tempted? Does he tempt anyone?
James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham.
Psalm 106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
The last verse is hard for Christians to explain unless Jesus (pigs be upon him) isn’t God after all.
5) Has any man ascended to heaven?
2 Kings 2:11 Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Further reading
There are many irrefutably clear-cut, black-and-white mathematical contradictions in the Bible as well.
But there are none in the Qur’an, as Dr Zakir Naik explains.

your kooran falls at the first fence because it doesn't believe the witness God gave.
1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. So your filthy moon god book has made a total liar out of you. What have you got to say to that!
Nothing, I'll bet, because you worship some dead goat herder who had delusional conversations with an angel who told him lies.

I can't really see a difference between the book of Mormon and the book of Arabian fairytales. They are both by so called prophets who were told by angels that the original testament was corrupt and that they had a new message.
They both seek to control every aspect of their cult member's life.
Christianity does none of these things as it is the original and the mormons and mooselips are the imitators.

Thank goodness the mooselimbs would never say that about the Arabic to English translations.

Nah, we just claim CONTEXT and that it never happened! Our beloved YWYH would never want human sacrifices.
Deuteronomy 18:10, 2 Kings 2:21, 2 Kings 3:27 and etc.

Hey, Haji.
[11:31] "I do not claim that I possess the treasures of GOD, nor do I know the future, nor do I claim to be an angel. Nor do I say to those despised by your eyes that GOD will not bestow any blessings upon them. GOD knows best what is in their innermost thoughts. (If I did this,) I would be a transgressor."
[11:32] They said, " O Noah, you have argued with us, and kept on arguing. We challenge you to bring the doom you threaten us with, if you are truthful."
[11:33] He said, "GOD is the One who brings it to you, if He so wills, then you cannot escape.
[11:34] "Even if I advised you, my advice cannot benefit you if it is GOD's will to send you astray. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned."
[11:35] If they say, "He made up this story," then say, "If I made it up, then I am responsible for my crime, and I am innocent of any crime you commit."
[11:36] Noah was inspired: "No more of your people are going to believe, beyond those who already believe. Do not be saddened by their actions.
[11:37] "Build the ark under our watchful eyes, and with our inspiration, and do not implore Me on behalf of those who have transgressed; they are destined to drown."
[11:38] While he was building the ark, whenever some of his people passed by him they laughed at him. He said, "You may be laughing at us, but we are laughing at you, just as you are laughing.
[11:39] "You will surely find out who will suffer a shameful retribution, and incur an everlasting punishment."
[11:40] When our judgment came, and the atmosphere boiled over, we said, "Carry on it a pair of each kind,* together with your family, except those who are condemned. Carry with you those who have believed," and only a few have believed with him.
Quote:
1) Was it God or Satan who moved David to take a census?
|
Yes.
Quote:
2) Which of the prophets said the Messiah would be a Nazerene?
Matthew 2:23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
What scripture is Jesus (pigs be upon him) quoting here?
John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
|
He is, of course, speaking that the prophecy has already been fulfilled. There are other places in the New Testament where they do the same exact thing. John 6:44-45 for example.
So there is a clear precedent for doing such things.
Quote:
|
That just proves that God is all powerful. He is not constrained by any rules on whether you can look upon Him or not.
Quote:
4) Can God be tempted? Does he tempt anyone?
James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
|
That is correct.
Quote:
Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham.
Psalm 106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
|
Tempt doesn't really mean tempt. It means to test.
Quote:
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
The last verse is hard for Christians to explain unless Jesus (pigs be upon him) isn’t God after all.
|
Jesus came down as a human and was also tempted in the desert by Satan himself. In His ascended form, he is God and is without temptation.
Philippians 2:5-8
This is too easy.
Quote:
5) Has any man ascended to heaven?
2 Kings 2:11 Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
|
No! Jesus says they didn't go to heaven. They were shot into outer space. CARM proves this.
Again, zero contradictions. Jesus wins as usual.

Jesus was a readily recognized figure. Any place He went, people thronged about Him, and His disciples.
Quote:
Mark 3:9
And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.
|
Quote:
Mark 5:24
And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
|
Quote:
Mark 9:14
And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
|
Quote:
Luke 3:7
Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
|
And many more. Remember when He fed 5,000 people with a few loaves and fishes?
Yet Judas had to betray Him with a kiss!
Quote:
Matthew 26:48
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
|
You might ask, "Wait, why would Judas have to go up and kiss Jesus to show the Jewish leaders who He was? He was in the garden with only three of His disciples! Shouldn't someone have been able to figure it out? After all their quizzing of Him and His disciples, wouldn't they know Him themselves?"
Obviously, it was dark, and Judas wanted to be sure the priests and the multitude of Christ-killing Jews didn't accidentally grab one of the "heretical" disciples instead of Jesus in the confusion. Duh!

And by the way, in that last video in your post, that muslim uses the same kind of argument you accuse Christians of using to defend the Bible.

Well, actually, Jesus (piss be upon him) was a Muslim. Everyone is born a Muslim. Even you yourself were born a Muslim, Pastor Jones, you cannot deny it. So Islam is the original religion.
"No babe is born but upon Fitra (as a Muslim). It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist." (Sahih Muslim, Book 033, Number 6426)
Abrogation is necessary because Allah revealed His will progressively. Obviously the verses that permit abrogation abrogate the verses that forbid it.
And none can alter the words of Allah. (Surah 6:34)
None can alter His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. (Surah 6:115)
No change is there in the words of Allah . That is what is the great attainment. (Surah 10:64)
And recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. There is no changer of His words, and never will you find in other than Him a refuge. (Surah 18:27)
We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah is over all things competent? (Surah 2:106)
And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse - and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You, [O Muhammad], are but an inventor [of lies]." But most of them do not know. (Surah 16:101)
That may or may not have happened.

Now suppose that there were at any time any variations in the Qur'an other than those caused by scribal errors or failure of memory or due to some minor differences in script. That is, suppose that some individuals or groups deliberately held onto a text of the Qur'an that they knew was different from the one followed by others and that was closer to the original text than the one we possess. How could it then happen that from century to century and from country to country we find the same text of the Qur'an? It is said that 'Uthman, the third leader succeeding the Prophet, ordered people to burn all the texts of the Qur'an which were different from a certain text. But is it conceivable that people will submit to this order even if they thought 'Uthman's text was not the authentic text? Westerners may have the tendency to think that Muslim rulers must have always been tyrant dictators who could force the people to do anything. This is certainly not true of the early leaders of Muslims. But even if we assume that people lived in terror of their leaders, it was logistically impossible for 'Uthman to control every home. People could easily hide their various copies of the Qur'an and secretly pass them on to their descendants and through them on to us. It is self-evident and is also required by the teachings of the Qur'an that every Muslim should do his utmost to prevent the alteration or suppression of the word of God. For in passages where there are no variations alleged the Qur'an had condemned earlier nations for altering or fabricating the "divine" scripture.

It is indeed possible that 'Uthman did promulgate one particular text and ordered others to be burnt. For differences in script and copying errors during a period of fast conversion might have resulted in many manuscripts with errors. If these manuscripts were then used to make further copies, the errors would have multiplied. The best solution was that certain authenticated copies be sent to various centers of the Muslim world and all others destroyed. The very fact that the text whose copies were sent by 'Uthman was accepted throughout the Muslim world, by both his friends and foes, and the fact that no other text has ever been put forward as an alternative to the existing text proves that the text sent by 'Uthman was the authentic one.

If it did happen, at least we know we have been left with the original text. You Christians can’t agree which texts are right.
So you believe the something the Bible says happened never happened?
Judges 11:39 And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her [according] to his vow which he had vowed:
Quote:
[11:31] "I do not claim that I possess the treasures of GOD, nor do I know the future, nor do I claim to be an angel. Nor do I say to those despised by your eyes that GOD will not bestow any blessings upon them. GOD knows best what is in their innermost thoughts. (If I did this,) I would be a transgressor."
[11:32] They said, "O Noah, you have argued with us, and kept on arguing.

The Qur’an has an uncorrupted account. The flood was only a local flood, affecting only the people of Noah (piss be upon him).
Quote:
As far as the second point is concerned, keeping the first point in perspective, it is obvious, in my opinion, that the directive of taking a pair of animals was not for the purpose of saving the species from extinction (as the flood was not universal), but to facilitate the settlement of Noah (pigs be upon him) and his followers at the new place (where they disembark the ark). This implies that Noah (pigs be upon him) only took a pair of such animals, which had a domestic and social utility in the human life at that time. I really do not think that Noah (pigs be upon him) took elephants or lions etc. with him. http://www.understanding-islam.com/q... upon him-4784

Duh!

John 18:3-8 3 Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
John doesn’t mention Judas kissing Jesus (piss be upon him). In fact, it says Judas stood with the officers. So did Judas kiss Jesus so that they would know who to arrest and then go back to stand with the officers? If so and if Jesus (piss be upon him) really knew all things, he would have known that the kiss had identified him, so he wouldn’t need to tell the officers who he was. But if Jesus first told the officers who he was, why would Judas need to come forward and kiss him to identify him to the officers?

Everyone is born under the wrath and curse of God. We don’t subscribe to the airy-fairy muslim belief that all babies are born pure and that if they die they go automatically to the highest paradise – which proves we don’t believe in an afterlife just out of wishful thinking. Faith in Jesus is the only way to avoid condemnation. Whoever doesn’t believe is already condemned. Condemnation is man’s natural state from birth.
Ps 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Jn 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
God choses which babies He will love and which ones He will hate even before they are born. In fact He made His choice even before He created the earth.
Rom 9:10-13
10 And not only [this]; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac;
11 (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.

Although many muslims believe the Flood was local or affected only some parts of the world, the Koran doesn’t explicitly say it was local. In fact, a natural reading of the relevant verses strongly implies a worldwide Flood and that Noah took two of every animal on board the ark with him. The Koranic account uses similar language to the Biblical account.
71:26 And Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.”
54:11-12 Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down and caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.
23:27 So We inspired to him, "Construct the ship under Our observation, and Our inspiration, and when Our command comes and the oven overflows, put into the ship from each [creature] two mates and your family, except those for whom the decree [of destruction] has proceeded. And do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned.
| Mt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Going to Hell on many counts. I wager you are little more than a troll, because all the mudslimes that I know would never speak that way. They are ignorant and will likely be sharing a spot in Hell with you, but at least they are a lot more respectful.

Brother Pendergast has covered pretty much all of your lies and ignorance, but here is one more thing - like you people have only one version of Qur'an? Oh, yeah? What about the satanic verses? Also, don't the Shiites think that Qur'an is incomplete?
BTW, it was already said by somebody else earlier, but it's worth repeating - each time you piss at Jesus, you piss at your own prophet. You people are too ignorant to know that Jesus is God, but you do acknowledge Him as a Prophet of God.

I can't either, not because I wave my butt in the air five times daily (is it six on Sunday?) (and I don't anyway) while idolizing some statue of a renamed moon god, but because... it's a McRib. Just, ewww.
