Odd, no response from Deaner. I hope he's OK. And I sure was looking forward to him taking me up the old dirt road.
Brother Cranky, does your son know that route?

One of Deaner's cousins is visiting him at the moment, and....I think there was some trouble....
I'm sure he'll share the story once they let him out.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Oh.
Brother COM's son didn't know the back way, so he brought me in the highway. A very thoughtful young man! I can't wait for tomorrow's events, especially the Cornball!

Ah, I just got back to the hotel from the bonfire. What a great CornCon! Brother FM's corndogs were oh-so-tasty, and I loved trying all the creative corn recipes!
Brother Hutchins, your wife's cornbread fried chicken was just to die for. And the cornbread fritters from Sister Talitha, and the corn pudding by Cookie! Oh, and Midge, you know, I'd never have even thought of Corn Brulee.
And I hope never to again.
There were so many great treats and events, I don't know where to start! What was your favorite?

Hoo boy, I tell you it's a miracle I even got there on time. What with me getting all excited about rebuking those fools at the Folsom Street Fair, I actually missed my flight!
Fortunately, I was able to get booked on a later one, but I'm sure you'll understand why I didn't get my deep fryer set up until after dark.
I must say, Reverend Rodimer, it really put a smile on my face to see you gobbling my corn dog like that!
Say, which hotel are you in? I'm over here at the Super 8. If you need me for anything, I'll be in the jacuzzi.

Anyway, I'm really super excited that we're only, what, a hundred and fifty miles from Freehold?
I don't want to take time away from all that cob-nobbling, but I figure once the festival's over and done with, I'm going to have to take a trip to Freehold and see it for myself for the first time!
That is, assuming my background check goes through without any hitches.
How much of it can I see in two or three days?

I still haven't passed my background check, there has been some sort of delay for over a year now?
I am allowed to work in the fields outside of town, though.
The town is very pretty. Sometimes I climb the hill and look down at it and imagine I am walking through Landover, laughing and smiling.
I pretend I am married and she loves me very much.

Oh, that's so nice!
I would love to have the privilege of tilling the fields on the outskirts of Freehold! There's nothing like the feeling of the sun on your back and the soil under your fingernails as you're working the land the way our forefathers did!
Maybe I'll pay a few Mexicans to do that for me while I'm in town.

I am your Mexican, sir... will work for food!
I could also use some shoes.
Whatever arrangement you think is fair, sir.

Goodness, Brother, I hadn't realized things were so dire for you! Are you hungry? I'll be sure and save you "sloppy seconds" from all the corn cobs Rodimer chews on!

As an accursed bastard and a mexican, my burdens are many, my joys are few.
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.~Luke 6:20
But I won't be poor on Judgment Day, Praise God!
And all of those women who have made fun of me and been cruel will be burning in Hell, and they will look up at me in between their screams of horror and pain and beg for my attentions, but no! No, I'll be laughing then, and doing a little jig, ha ha! Hallelujah!

Listen, CornCon is almost over. Will you still be available for that field tilling gig in a few days?

By "almost over", do you mean "ended on Sunday"?
Are you still out playing Cornhole, Brother FM? I knew you love Cornholing, but I had no idea how much!
Who are you playing with? Let me guess: Deaner, who didn't show up to get me from the airport (or take me back to it), and never took me up the old dirt road for that amazing view he promised to show me?
