Who killed Jesus -
10-09-2006, 03:24 PM
Prior to being banned Abalux asked "who killed Jesus"
I would like to answer that question.
It's been a while since I've had a discourse on Matthew 27. So thank you abalux for giving me this opportunity.
Who killed Jesus.
What are our options?
1. The Jewish leaders.
Matthew 27: 1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
These were the people who asked for Him to be put to death. Today, I guess they could be co-defendants in the trial. Are they fully to blame? Unsure. They are the ones who called for His death, so they do bear some responsibility.
2. Pilate.
Matthew 27:2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
Pilate was the one who ultimately had him put on the cross. So, does he bear some responsibility? Probably.
3. Judas.
Matthew 27: 3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him,...
But, was Judas really to blame?
Luke 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. So Judas was possessed by SATAN himself when he betrayed Jesus, so is it His fault?
4. Satan. Because he possessed Judas.
John 13:2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
Judas would not have done it, if it weren't for that nasty old devil.
5. Jesus Himself.
Pilate in a discussion with Jesus.
Matthew 27:11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
Later on...
13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
When charged, Jesus said nothing. Knowing he was SUPPOSED to die.
6. The Jews.
Matthew 27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
Well then... I guess they took the blame/credit themselves.
So there you have it. The list from Matthew 27.
BUT!!! Wait... There's someone missing from that list.
Do you know who?
It's you!
Luke 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Friend Jesus died temporarily for YOU!
Isn't that great!
How can you not be moved to accept HIM!
PRAISE JESUS!!!

Exactly, how many other "friends" do people have who would hang on a cross for a day, and then resurrect themselves after 3 days?
I can only think of one. JESUS!!!
Praise HIM!!!

It brings tears to my eyes as well. Just think about it: God Almighty, Creator of the universe, temporarily sacrificed Himself to Himself to fulfill a law that He Himself had written, and He did it all for our sins! Anyone who can consider that and still not accept Him must truly have been given over to a reprobate mind.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

I find Jesus temporary death very inspiration because it shows everyone, no exceptions, must pay the price if they disobey the law. The sinful should heed this warning from the Lord to mend their wicked ways.
Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

There is on name missing, indeed. The only person, who would be able to kill the Creator of the Universe, would be the Creator Himself:
John 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Many FALSE Christians will vehemently deny this, but Our Lord's actions in behaving in a way that he knew would cause the authorities to condemn and execute him, and his refusal to take any action to avoid his execution, is similar to what today would be called " suicide by cop".
That's right, Jesus killed Himself for us "that all things which are written may be fulfilled". What a friend we have in Jesus.
