Peter's the Rock -
09-25-2007, 01:22 AM
Example:
Suppose you ran a company trying to make it, and then hired a Mr. Brown. Suppose you said to him: "They call you Brown, but I'm gonna call you Stone, and upon this Stone I will establish a successful company."
Who's the stone, you or Brown?
Let me know when you have an answer, so I may reply.
ACTS 5:29
Quote:
But Peter and the apostles said in reply, "We must obey God rather than men."

You know, the last time we had this debate, the Catholic ended up praising the Spanish Inquizition, coming to the defense of the Balkan genocide, calling us all dogs in the biggest font size he could find, and then quitting in frustration.
Not to discourage you, I'm just making sure you knew.

Well, in this example, Brown is.
In the Bible, strictly speaking, both are! (Deuteronomy 32:4)
Now answer me, WHY is Simon (ie Peter) a rock?
And when did God say that Peter's office of "God's rock on earth" should get passed on..
Especially by means of HUMANS VOTING on the matter?
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.

I'd say that either you're stoned on the drugs or you're going to get stoned by Jesus when He gets His loving hands on you, filthy dress-wearing papist.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

The stone is the successful company. I know this because I am a Doctor of Theology, not a Catholic pedophile. Don't bother replying. Jesus speaks to me, SATAN speaks to Poop Ratsinger ever since Hitler died.

Oh, and by the way, what would you know about successful companies, commie?
Don't you know your Pope has recently called for a ban on all automobiles, enforced by a totalitarian communist world government?
Quote:
Benedict XVI, in his address prior to the Angelus warned against “the logic of profit” widely put into effect in a way which “increases the divide between rich and poor and causes a disastrous exploitation of the planet”. Speaking from the apostolic palace of Castel Gandolfo, the pope highlighted the current world emergencies regarding “famine” and “the ecology”, underlining that only by bringing to bear “ a logic of sharing and solidarity may the current course be changed towards equal and sustainable development”.

Maybe he's just jealous because the Popemobile doesn't look like this:
You can have our SUVs when you pull the steering wheel from our cold, dead fingers!

Ooh, do I get to play, too?
Suppose that you are trying to use a large, complicated machine that can give you untold benefit if used correctly but, if used incorrectly, can trap you in its mechanism and dismember you in a truly interesting way. It comes with a large instruction manual that gives detailed instructions for every aspect of its use and repeatedly warns you that you must follow those instructions exactly, or else.
Along comes a man who claims to be a successor in interest to one of the authors of the instruction manual. He has no evidence for that assertion except his own say-so, and none of the papers that came with the machine mention any such successor in interest. He says that he knows better than anyone else how to operate the machine and that you should trust him completely. He also says that the instruction manual is too complicated for anyone except him to understand and that he must interpret it correctly for you. He further says that large parts of the instruction manual are to be read allegorically and even says things that contradict some of the most strongly worded parts of the instruction manual. His behavior around the machine sometimes seems shockingly careless.
What do you do when you want to operate the machine?
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

In Genesis, God says He's going to change Jacob's name to Israel.
Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
But, even though God said he wouldn't be Jacob anymore, he was still sometimes referred to as Jacob.
Genesis 35:22 And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
So, the stone may be Mr. Brown, but we can still refer to him as Mr. Brown, if we want.
Additionally, Mr. Brown is the stone. Not the company. I'm still the owner.

You have rocks in your head. Who is the mediator between GOD and man, you, the Pope, or the Son of God?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Wait,so that means you're in favor of the inquizition?
I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the other representative of the "infallable" Pope, username Catholic1.
I might repost some of it for you, if you promise to read it.
