When I speak on this subject, as I do from time to time and as may be, I am always careful to point out that
(a) there is no quantifier, e.g. "for the next 10 years" but that does not mean the offer is always open. If I say to someone, You must come round to my house and have dinner - I don't expect him to be dining with me for the next 40 years.
(b) The writer had no effective power to offer this entry to God's Country: Nobody voted on the principle.
(c ) I have made inquiries and apparently the writer accepted no "poor and huddled masses".
(d) A moment's thought would cause most right-thinking people to say - "Why do we need "poor and huddled masses"?" A question for which there seems no answer.
(e) The Bible is heavy on the idea that "the poor go to heaven" and "the poor are always with us". Why would the poor not want to be poor? Why would they journey across oceans (or the Rio Grande) merely to be poor? I don't think God is bothered if you are poor in America or poor in Uzbekistan - as long as you are Christian.
(f) Imagine that you spend your life in the jungle in some mud hut - if you are unhappy there, are you going to be any happier where you can't shit in a public space or marry a dozen women or have people tell you to be "politically correct"? I don't think so, and I don't think either you or they do.
This is the problem with women - they don't think things through. It is also typical of the "liberal left" who never seem to think past their own self-imposed guilt. Guilt for what? Guilt for being happy in God's Country?
Imagine the Gated Community of Landover bound together in the service of the Lord. Now imagine a tired and huddle mass of several thousand being pushed in through the gates with army rations for three days and army tents as houses...
... think of that for a moment...
Who is going to be "truly happy" after that? You? No... disease will break out, the crime rate (zero) will rise hugely, harlots will walk the street, feral children will set fires on your lawn, rusting cars (these always accompany tired and huddled masses) will infest the place and before you know it, Landover will turn from being "as close to Paradise and The Lord as Possible" to a cess pit of gibbering abominations where drugs, gays, loud music, harlotry, and false gods mock simple citizens born in and of the land.
And will that tired and huddled mass be happy? No. How do I know? Well, if you look in the ghettos, what do you see? - Yes, you see copies of the home countries of the inhabitants - they are unhappy with the way the US works and looks. They do not try to integrate, but recreating their own dung pile of a country, beat up anyone who enters and then demanding the right to eat only "their food" and the right to masturbate in the street and smoke drugs because their god demands it!
And all you can do is sit and watch, as the Jews must have sat and watched in Babylon.
Now, if you will excuse me, I have to take Mrs Bathfire to her weekly meeting of AMACP - American Mothers against Colored People.
The Lord be with you.
