Re: Down syndrome is a lifestyle choice!

Clearly, my opinion isn't valued (really, why would it be) in this thread after receiving an infraction. I'll cease my challenging, but with one final comment.

What if a person with Down's syndrome is simply a person with sub-average intelligence? Would the world be a better place if we treated them like human beings?

Re: Down syndrome is a lifestyle choice!

But how are Christian down syndromes created?

                  Example:
I know a family, who worship God and have done all their life.
Go to church whenever they can, constantly spread the good doings of Jesus, and all that mumbo jumbo.
They love all their neighbours, never heard them swear or use the lrods name in vain, both straight and was both born in the same environment when they was younger.
The male is a vickar/pastar whatever you like to call them for his local Church.
They've been married and at 30 years old and been married for 10 years they decided to have a child, turns out... this child has down syndrome, explain that to me...

He's a man of God, and yet his child has this disease, and you say it only happens to the sinners.
Ever stopped to think your all the sinners for how you treat people?
Anyone who goes against your doings you strike them down and leave them,
You think if Jesus was like that in them days he would of recieved this much popularity.

                  But anyways,
                  ANSWER ME THAT QUESTION
HOW DOES THAT CHILD HAVE THE DISEASE.

Re: Down syndrome is a lifestyle choice!

This is preposterous. Down Syndrome is not a choice anymore than Huntington's Disease or cancer is. Our bodies are cursed by the fall and this affects who we are, as in the case of the mentally handicapped. This forum's horrible pre-judgment is incredible. Jesus loves those who are infirm. You think because you read one book, the bible, you know all the answers. Medical books and doctors teach us things too and the bible teaches us to love the weak and the sick. Please read more of the Bible and you will see that this foolish and rash lashing out at everything we know from the medical community is misplaced anger.

Then you need to explain how come God expressly excludes disabled persons from His presence and why Jesus views "disorders" such as you have mentioned as demonic possession.

If you read The New Testament you may notice that they are not allowed into the temple until after they've been exorcised.

You think people 'catch' it out of thin air? You think it happens by 'chance'? There is not more of a chance of it spontaneously happing than there is of me being an ape.
God strikes people down, He burns Churches, He causes horrifying accidents for good reasons, reason we have no right to question. We do know that it is usually to punish us or teach us a lesson. My experience has been that those who are 100% faithful to Him, never have these sorts of problems.
God hates the infirm. He only cures some to show that He can. He would cure everyone if the diseases/deformity/death was not well deserved. Do you seriously think we should not get what we deserve?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

However, Down syndrome might be the result of a human being born without soul. The thick throat, malformed face, clumsiness and low IQ are all features of a soulless beast. Since they lack soul, you don't have to feel guilt if you're cruel to a mongo.
