Trust me, I have no interest in you physically. I was asking a general question regarding the TC view of intimacy.

Hey Phoeny baby,
you shouldn't waste your precious time with those lamesters. You and I should hook up and go on a special mushroom tasting river trip together.
I'll PM you with the details.

This is a mistake a lot of people make, being embarrased about their attraction to a virile man of God. Ask any of the other moderators or senior Pastors and they will tell you the same thing; we hate the sin not the sinner. The sometimes irresistable urge you feel is your innermost being trying to reach out and caress the swollen, blood engorged heart of Jesus. Recognizing your thought process is the first step out of enslavement to satan.

Is this the kind of love and intimacy I can expect from the secular world? Sister, it's women like you that are turning adult men into homers.

No, it's men like you who have no respect for women and no desire for true intimacy who cause women to reject them. Women want men who see them as more than unpaid servants and walking incubators.

So, Phoney, you want to be paid?
Well, sure, I've got some spare cash laying around. We're gonna have to go halvsies on the shrooms though.
How much were you thinking? 50 bucks?

I am genuinely hurt that you would misrepresent Jesus' teachings in such a unkind way. Don't you want to embrace your own true nature?

No, I don't expect to be paid for doing my share of keeping the household running. That isn't what I said.
But these men seem to think that a woman's only purpose for existence is to serve a man. Since they seem to believe that cooking and cleaning are not fit activities for men, it appears that one of the benfits of marriage for TC men is that they get the services of a maid without the expense of one. I'm just wondering what benefits TC women get out of marriage, because there don't seem to be any.

The opportunity to experience God's sheparding through the intermediary of their husband, an experience that women find to be deeply fulfilling -- spiritually and otherwise.

I don't think that Jesus saw women the same way LBC does. And my true nature is to want much more out of my life than to spend the rest of my days doing nothing but cooking, cleaning, and popping out babies.

So what is it that you feel is the life Jesus wants me to lead? From what I've seen here, it seems to be that LBC feels that a woman's role is to cook for and clean up after a man, and to make babies, and nothing else. If that's incorrect, please let me know where I have misunderstood.

What you missunderstand Pheonix is that this is what Jesus/ God call for in The Bible. We of LBC are only following what The Bible says.

May I go out on limb and assume that you remain here because your soul is parched for truth and compels you to seek out our guidance for getting right with God?
Please recognize that virtually all of the world's religions have "borrowed" bits of this and that from Christianity. There's nothing we Christians can do about it, and in a way, it's flattering of God's plan (although, of course, nothing substitutes for accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior). Regardless, one of the most common Christian themes that's been stolen by other religions is the Christian teaching that our hearts deceive us and remain a mystery to us, until that moment when we accept Jesus, and then the scales fall from our eyes, and we can look with spiritual insight into the true order of things, all of which were formerly hidden from us.
In your case, obviously everything that you think you know about yourself is wrong, a mere illusion of what God's got in store for you, if only you would ask quietly and with feminine hesitancy, "Oh Lord, forgive me for my arrogant and unwomanly desire to think for myself and castigate the men who You have graciously placed in my life to guide me along the road to You. I have been a silly girl, for which I am deeply sorry. Please, dear Jesus, accept me as I am, that I might become the helpmate You want me to become. Amen." See how much better you feel, Miss Phoenix?

You're getting emotional. Following Our Saviour's will for your life is not as difficult as it seems; you have to be able to discern what's important. Is an eternal, happy life with Jesus important? Is avoiding eternal damnation in the company of demons important? To me, yes. Is the fact that Joan who sits in the cubicle next to you at work didn't say good morning to you first so now you've made a decision that you're not going to say good morning either important? Hardly. See what I mean?

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children;
And thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Genesis 3:16
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife,
Nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Exodus 20:17
^ This verse also shows that women belong to their husbands. ("Any thing that is thy neighbour's.")
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ;
And the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
1 Corinthians 11:3
Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
1 Timothy 2:15
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.
Proverbs 9:12-13

I remain here because, despite the fact that I disagree with much of your doctrine, I find some of you genuinely pleasant to converse with.

There were also religions before Christianity that had the idea that there were things that were unexplainable except through spiritual insight that cam from belief in their deities. It's one of the defining characteristics of any religion.
If God didn't want me to think for myself, then why did he give me a brain capable of it? If all he wanted was for women to be a Stepford wives, he coud have accomplished by just giving women basic motor skills.
