A Tribute to the U.S. Flag. -
02-22-2007, 02:51 PM
Courtesy of 'http://home.comcast.net/~nw-fla/tribute_flag_B_thompson.htm'
I Am the Flag of the United States
Of America
I am the flag of the United States of America.
My name is Old Glory.
I fly atop the world's tallest buildings.
I stand watch in America's halls of justice.
I fly majestically over institutions of learning.
I stand guard with power in the world.
Look up and see me.
I stand for peace, honor, truth and justice.
I stand for freedom.
I am confident.
I am arrogant.
I am proud.
When I am flown with my fellow banners,
My head is a little higher,
My colors a little truer.
I bow to no one!
I am recognized all over the world.
I am worshipped - I am saluted.
I am loved - I am revered.
I am respected - and I am feared.
I have fought in every battle of every war for more then 200 years. I was flown at Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Shiloh and Appomattox.
I was there at San Juan Hill, the trenches of France,
in the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome and the beaches of Normandy.
Guam, Okinawa, Korea and KheSan, Saigon, Vietnam know me.
I'm presently in the mountains of Afganistan and the hot and dusty deserts of Iraq and wherever freedom is needed.
I led my troops, I was dirty, battleworn and tired,
But my soldiers cheered me and I was proud.
I have been burned, torn and trampled on the
streets of countries I have helped set free.
It does not hurt for I am invincible.
I have been soiled upon, burned, torn and trampled in the streets of my country.
And when it's done by those Whom I've served in battle - it hurts.
But I shall overcome - for I am strong.
I have slipped the bonds of Earth and stood watch over the uncharted frontiers of space from my vantage point on the moon.
I have borne silent witness to all of America's finest hours.
But my finest hours are yet to come.
When I am torn into strips and used as bandages for my wounded comrades on the battlefield,
When I am flown at half-mast to honor my soldier,
Or when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving parent
at the grave of their fallen son or daughter,
I am proud.
Please forward my message to all who still love and respect me that I may fly proudly for another two hundred years.

I fly majestically over institutions of learning.
I stand guard with a false notion of power ready to dominate and destroy the world.
Look up and see me, and weep for the safety of the planet.
I stand for violence, depravity, falsehood and injustice.
I stand for assimilation.
I am ignorant.
I am arrogant.
I am a blemish upon the face of this earth.
When I am flown with my fellow banners,
My head is a little higher to avoid the pollution my people cause,
My colours a little too ubiquitous.
I bow to no one for I represent a country of @ssholes with no respect!
I am recognized all over the world for my country's lack of ethics.
I am spat upon - I am burned.
I am hated - I am reviled.
I am the epitome of capitalism - and I am feared.
I have stuck my nose in every battle of every war for more then 200 years. I was flown at Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Shiloh and Appomattox.
I was there at San Juan Hill, the trenches of France,
in the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome and the beaches of Normandy. I was there even when it was none of my g*ddamn business.
Guam, Okinawa, Korea and KheSan, Saigon, Vietnam know me for my villainy.
I'm presently in the mountains of Afghanistan and the hot and dusty deserts of Iraq and wherever I think my idea of freedom is needed.
I led my troops, I was dirty, battle worn and tired,
But my soldiers cheered me and I was proud.
I have been rightfully burned, torn and trampled on the
streets of countries I have helped to destroy.
It does not hurt for I am a sociopath and have no emotions.
I have been soiled upon, burned, torn and trampled in the streets of my country by people with ethics.
And when it's done by those Whom I've served in battle - it hurts.
But I shall overcome - for I am a stubborn pain in the @ss.
I have slipped the bonds of Earth and stood watch over the uncharted frontiers of space from my vantage point on the moon.
I have borne silent witness to all of America's finest hours.
But my finest hours are yet to come.
When the American Empire finally collapses, I will be there to see our reign of terror and limitless greed come to an end.
When I am torn into strips and used as bandages for my wounded comrades on the battlefield,
When I am flown at half-mast to honour my soldiers who fought to spread my cruelty,
Or when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving parent
at the grave of their fallen son or daughter,
I am sorry that their child died for such a worthless piece of fabric as myself.

That was touching, little boy, truly touching.

How... DARE you try to defile this song about the most beautiful of flags, you harlot?
And whoever of you that prefers her "version", you're going to BURN IN HELL!!
Can there be any doubt that liberals HATE not only our divinely inspired policies but America itself?
It's freedom, it's liberty, it's (atleast to some degree) God-fearing people?
You'd rather live in Soviet, wouldn't you, you worthless communist?!
Your kind is the reason we tied in Vietnam, and why Iraq takes slightly longer than planned to win.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.
Proverbs 9:12-13

Praise, that is a beautiful verse, Hacker! My only problem is that God isn't mentioned in it at all, and He should definitely have top billing.

Let's see....a country whose government spends millions in days on Iraq and yet doesn't give a hoot if their own citizens starve or die, not helping them when they need a hand with unemployment briefly. A country whose president could BE the missing link.....a country which USED to be great, but now....
Even though I no longer live in the US, I'm greatly saddened by how bad things have become. Alie's version is the sad truth.
Wake up and smell the 21st Century!!

I'd rather live in a place where there is real equality, where there is real respect between others, where there is compassion and the importance in society is placed upon the well-being of its citizens and not on the dollar.
And let's not forget that it was your decision to marry this "worthless communist". It didn't happen, thank the Gods for that, but it was still your idea.

You mean the American ideals of Freedom and Liberty?
We invented those, and we've done all we can to spread them to every corner of the earth...
Always opposed by you despotic, terrorist-loving communists.
Why do you hate Freedom and love Usama Bin Laden?
Why do you support terrorism and the murder of American citizens??!

You would have liked it here in Freehold then.
An all-Christian community filled to the brim with compassionate and beautiful people.
Too bad for you you'll never even get past the fence.

No. You started it. I only finished it when some horrendous facts were discovered..
I can't marry some french speaking harlot, not only is it an obvious security risk, but I'm not into damaged goods either.
In anycase, it's in the past now.. stop whining because it didn't go through.

They are all jealous, Brother. Every nigra, wop, polack and slant in the world would gladly sell their kids for a chance to live in God's favorite country. Oh sure the ones who are too lazy or drug-addled to get in will spit on us and shriek that life is unfair. But all you have to do is take a look at the big picture to see which country is loved by Jesus.
You don't see anyone clambering to sneak into cannuckistan, do you?
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

I prefer your version too,it has the ring of truth about it somehow.
I was there at San Juan Hill, the trenches of France,
in the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome and the beaches of Normandy.
Well yes,you certainly WERE there.......eventually.
I wonder if that's why America's so keen on war now - afraid of being late. Again.
In order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid.

Why hasn't Great Britian put Australia and New Zeland firmly under thumb lately?
"If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. . . . And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the manservant's do."
(Leviticus 21:6-7)

Wait a second - Rome's been invaded? Has America finally woken up to the need to strike at the root of the Global Papist Menace? Please say it's so.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Thank you for pointing that out sister. He will have a major part in a modified version that I am currently working on. Of all the people in the universe to leave out, they just had to leave out Jesus . What a shame.
