For sale: Buick Riviera -
07-19-2009, 06:31 AM
For sale: This 1973 Buick Riviera has a 7.5 L engine (455 cc) and is very environmentally unfriendly, but will make you feel like the king of the road !
It's in very good shape, including the original vinyl. The chrome is all original. Bamboo Yellow with Black vinyl roof, no rust, AT,AC,PS,PB,CC, Split front bench seats, factory mag chrome wheels with slight surface pitting. The right rear fender has had some bodywork done and needs a little touch up. The tires and brakes are new, and the odometer reads 78,565, although I'm pretty sure that's been turned over at least once.
I'm only the second owner of this car, and I've had it since 1983. It sits in the garage, mostly, and I only use it for my cruising around town car.
I'm keeping my ford F150, but I have to sell this car to help pay my property tax this year. I'm a little sad to see it go, but hopefully I can sell it to a good Christian who will love and baby her.
For only $14,500 this little baby can be yours!
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

That's a beautiful car Brother Nobar. You do it a disservice by mentioning it's so-called lack of green qualifications - it is doing no damage at all to anything and, even if it were, it is no worse than 3 x 2.5 L vehicles or 1 x 2.5L vehicle doing 3 times the mileage.
That rear window is iconic - good luck with the sale, I think you've underpriced it by $1000, someone will get a bargain.

I love it.
Unfortunately, after my sad accident I am no longer allowed to drive.
I'll have a word with my Chauffeur but it may be a bit small for my needs.

Now, that car says "Pastor-Mobile" all over it. I am surprised Rev. Jim Osborne did not already snatch it up and toss it in his collection.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I'd take it off your hands only I've already got a couple of them in my garages. Very classy ride.

Do I see Bondo ® in the 4th picture?
Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

I always liked those. I don't generally buy Buicks.

I don't think it's quite luxurious enough for Rev. Jim.

Sold! This is a great car for a young guy like yourself. It has lots of power and people can hear you coming a mile away.

Yes. I mentioned that in the OP.

Even among Rivieras this is a beauty. Jimmy Carter ruined the Buick name with the gas shortage in 1973. Buicks were never the same after that.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I notice in picture number 7 that you have a stick attached to the steering wheel.
A little something to beat the women off that passion pit on wheels the car when you're out driving around?
Or, is it to wallop those homeless people trying to wash your windshield at each stop light?

Homeless people? I'd use a pistol for that.
I did own a Buick a while back but I sold it. Good enough car but not my style. I like them blunt with too much engine and few options.
Like someone said, it would make an ideal first car for a junior Pastor or maybe a Youth Pastor. Not too flashy but still comfortable.
My first car like that was a 1960 Desoto I inherited after my father was murdered by hippies. I still have it in the back of the metal building with the rest of my fathers car collection. He loved Chryslers but there are some Buicks back there too. Maybe only a half dozen or so, honestly I haven't been back there in years so who knows. I'll dig up the pictures.
