  • A Candle in the Darkness

    Hello I am Ashley, which I have no problems telling those here because I believe that those here are good at heart.
    I am a Christian, non-denomination, and I study with my family everyday God's wonderful and holy truth found in the Holy Bible. I hope to discuss with those here the truths of the Holy Bible and speak on God's great love for us and how I love my Father. I hope we can speak of Jesus Christs wonderful atonement and sacrifice so that we have a way to heaven and be with him.
    With God's light and protection I will not fall, and with this strength I will fight against the Adversary’s fiery darts and lying words... I with put on the full Armour of God and stand firm against the evil in this world:

    Ephesians 6:11-18: King James Version (KJV)
    11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
    12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
    16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
    18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
    God is my light and my strength, and I am his sword.

      Thank you for your concern and but I am not married yet, I have not found a man that follows God's will as he should and I refuse to many any but a righteous man.
      I require nothing but the best, which counts him being an intellegent man that will treat me as the daughter of God that I am.

        Welcome Ashely to our humble TRUE Christian(tm) forum. It is rather refreshing to meet another Christian after those other kinds of folks we get. Still, we know His judgment will be upon them so all we can do is pray for them.

        Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

          Your father has not had any success in locating a husband for you? That's a shame. That means that every 28 days you are literally flushing a potential soldier for Christ(c) right down the toilet.

            My father died when I was young, but he was a good man, all I have is my mother who has refused to have any man but my father. Believing it would be a sin to be known by another man but my father.

            Well I have yet to see these potental solders for Christ©, I trust that God will lead me to the right man.

              Welcome to God's favorite forum!

              I regret to hear that you don't have a husband or father with you. What masculine figure do you have to set/slap you straight when you have your regular occuring female 'hissy fits'? A brother?
              "Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up." (Hosea 13:16)

                My mother raised me well, as such I don't need to be set or slapped straight. I know how to act and throwing hissy fits or causing problems is not they way I act, and as for a brother... yes I have one yet he currently has taken his own path. -Sighs-

                His story is much like that of the Prodigal Son, yet in his case he hasn't found his way back yet.

                  I'm not convinced a woman will know for sure that she doesn't have to be set straight sometime. Especially if there's no husband or father around. Your prime task must be to find a husband so you can start making small soldiers for God! Landover actually have a forum for this purpose!

                    Easy there Brother Jared,

                    We must rejoice she has listened to Christ and maintained her purity and not sunk into depravity like so many young women these day. If you watched the DVDs provided by Reverend Osborn so many ladies are ensnared by lesbianism and other depravities.

                      Well that is fine, I can understand that Brother Jared. I allow God through his Holy Bible to show me where I error and need correction. -Smiles at you and gives a small bow-

                      On the link you gave I don't think so, especially after seeing this "How much do you guys think I could sell my daughter for?", "Is Anyone Willing to Purchase my Daughter?", and "Arranging Marriages from Children? Offers and bidding."
                      No offense to those here but I don't think I will talk about marriage to those talking about selling their daughters. There also seems to be other threads that sadden me a bit so I will not speak in that area yet.

                        You're right Bobby-Joe, I was maybe formulating my words a bit harsher than intended - my apologies. I'm just concerned about this young woman with no male figure in her family to guide her through life. I hope she's strong with Christ and visits church regularly.

                          My strength comes from God, my courage from Jesus Christ. I am lead by my Father and will not fall away with my savior in control of my life. Jesus Christ is the male figure in my life and in the end that is all I need to stay true to my faith. Also yes I do go to church, my mother and I going every week without fail.
                          I am a warrior of my God, guided by Jesus Christ

                              Dear Ashley

                              We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments to be the full record of God's self-disclosure to mankind. Different men, while writing according to their own styles and personalities, were supernaturally moved along by the Holy Spirit to record God's very words, inerrant in the original writings. Therefore, those applying themselves to study its literal, historical-grammatical context can accurately understand God's Word. Scripture is fully trustworthy as our final and sufficient authority for all of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). Therefore I don't understand why this upsets you (See Exodus 21:7-11 and the story of Isaac and Rebekah in Genesis 24)?
                              "Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up." (Hosea 13:16)
