I had to be away from the office for a couple of days due to a call from up north, Farmington, Minnesota.

A fine City Council member there was pulled over and arrested by one of his own Police Officers. This jack booted cop thought he could take down a fine public servant. All the Council Member, Jay Bartholomay was doing was making the Farmington street safe for his citizens.

Jay thought the police were not pulling over enough violators. So, be bought a pair of flashing red lights at the big box, put them on his old car and started pulling people over. What could be wrong with that?

I drove half the night to be at the hearing and talked down the charges. Jay was happy to be back at work and serving the citizens of Farmington. He said he would stop in at the Freehold City Hall on his next visit to Iowa and we can have a good cup of coffee.

FARMINGTON, Minn. – Embattled Farmington City Council member Jason Bartholomay said he is ready to put legal troubles behind him after pleading guilty to two of the lesser charges after he was stopped last year in Apple Valley and accused of using fake police lights to pull over vehicles.

Bartholomay was stopped last Oct. 26 by an Apple Valley police officer on Cedar Avenue after receiving reports of a driver using flashing red and blue lights to stop cars. The caller told
Christine Cassellius, assistant attorney for the city of Apple Valley, said Bartholomay pleaded guilty to two counts of using prohibited lights, one involving red and colored lights and the other involving blue lights. Both are petty misdemeanors and he paid $250 in fines and prosecution costs.
Bartholomay, who is facing calls for his resignation, said he didn't know the lights, which he bought on Amazon, were illegal when he installed them.

Cassellius said his plea deal also called for a misdemeanor charge of impersonating a police officer to be continued for one year and dropped if Bartholomay does not violate the terms of his probation.
"None of us know all the laws that are out there," said the council member. By ordering them off of Amazon, he said he just assumed it would be OK.
"I'm taking ownership in having them, because police he was driving south on the street when he saw the lights come on behind him. He stopped, and the car behind him pulled over, but then the lights went off and it drove away.

According to an official summons, Bartholomay at first denied knowing anything about the lights. When the officer asked him to activate what appeared to be a control box in the car's center console, though, the lights came on. Police also found a siren and PA system wired to an emitter under Bartholomay's hood.
Bartholomay said he has video from the squad car's dashboard camera that shows his flashing lights did not come on while he was driving.

What does it matter where he got the lights or the legality of them? So it's illegal now to force your fellow citizens to comply with the law? He was probably pulling over darkies. They're a protected race.

Great insight you have, Sister Victory. When I was up in Farmington there was some hint of just that problem.

My question is, what could be more intimidating to drug dealers, pimps and homer law breakers than seeing flashing red lights? The more the better is my thinking.

That must be it. Liberals will get all in your face and scream, "IT TAKES A VILLAGE," but then when a representative of a Christian Community tries to get involved and lend a helping hand, people start protesting. God forbid a Christian tries to help anyone any more. We're the only group that people are allowed to openly discriminate against, and I for one am getting sick and tired of it. I can't wait for Mr. Trump to make America Great Again, and then True Christians™ can get back to being the Stewards of America, Land of the Free, like God intended.

The right to citizen arrest has been upheld by the US Supreme Court. How is any God Fearing citizen supposed to exercise this God given right without flashing red and blue lights on their vehicle?

Maybe this is another opening for Donald Trump. He could promise free flashing red lights for the cars of all True Christians™. True Christians™ could arrest and fine sinners. What a glorious country this would be!

It is my responsibility, nay, my duty to restrain that person until such time as a proper authority may hear cause and make a final determination. I am not a judge, Jury or Pastor so it is not my place to convict.
People have no idea how much of a strain this puts on a simple Christian, to detain the lawless and unChristian for what can often be months to get a Judge or Pastor to take the time out of their busy schedules to stop by my isolated residence to review the irrefutable facts.
When Ted Cruz gets in the White House (after fumigation and cleaning, one 'those people' squatting there leave) we can return to a Christian, clean way of life.
