Old alley cats are stringy and smell gamey, while a fresh young kitty is a delicately-flavored taste treat.

You know, that is typical empty-headed female logic. If someone wrote a poem about a nice thick porterhouse steak, or an ode to a delicious plate of pot roast, would that make you less likely to enjoy eating them? Sweet Jesus, you are addle-brained!
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

Well the idea, Zeke, was not to post about how good a dish of 'little tiger' is at Wu Lin's, or the fact that the bible doesn't say NOT to eat them, but more on the fact that they are intelligent and loyal loving animals who shouldn't be eaten. It's not right to eat an intelligent animal. Would you eat a dog?
As to porterhouse steak and potroast, thanks, I was wondering what I should cook for dinner. One of those things is a good idea.

All animals are meat provided by God for Man to feast upon at his leisure. Cuteness or ability to do tricks does not grant immunity from consumption. If a dog can earn its keep by chasing off wandering messicants or keeping the coloreds in line, then fine, it lives. But the first time it lest one get past the perimeter, its in the stew pot for Fido. If a cow gives milk for sale, then it can sleep in the barn. When that milk stops, its steaks and chops. Just because bossie the cow might be taught to genuflect when I walk past, it doesn't mean I won't throw her on the grill later that day. For GOD sayeth....
Quote:
Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so.
|
Thus sayeth the Lord. Any questions?
BTW, I hope you choke on your pot roast.

I have a question, why would you through a cow on the grill... does one not throw things on the grill?

Well, that's stupid. Clearly some animals, while they can be eaten, are not really of the physical characteristic to be eaten. Cats are predators. Would you go hunt and eat a lion? Or a panther? Well, I have no doubt you would if you could but they'd more than likely eat you if they could get the chance.
And if you pay attention to the bible in those ways, why aren't you eating grasshoppers? The bible clearly states that grasshoppers are in the 'approved food' list.

On Meats
That man doth eat
the fly is true.
The toad may eat the fly.
The cat may eat the toad.
After which there is the dog
for Chinese joints; and bistros of
the Frogs consume the frog.

She swallowed the Cat to catch the Bird
She swallowed the Bird to catch the Spider
She swallowed the Spider to catch the Fly
I don't know why she swallowed the Fly!
But I couldn't find these particular details in my Bible(KJV1611)

I haven't heard that rhyme in ages. Didn't the lady die after eating like a horse or something?

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.

I dredge up a childhood memory my father recited or sang to me.
I don't know how close my impromtu recitation comes to the original,
but here it is, for whatever it's worth,
