why would you be afraid if your son gets into the heavier rock? there are many christian bands that range all over the "rock" spectrum.
Tell him to check out the band Before Their Eyes

Well, in that case, that's perfectly acceptable. It's just this forum gets invaded by a lot of sick freaks and we have to be hypervigilant, you know?

Obviously not enough to capitalize His name.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

I am sorry everyone for these barrage of question, but raising a child is hard, and I need him to be as pure to the Lord as possible, so I may have many concerns and questions I must rid myself of.

Couldn't agree more. Always best to shoot first an ask questions later, especially with so many atheists about.

As for me, I listen to heavier stuff all the time, and it's pretty great. Nothing wrong with anyone getting into it.

Start with the best and see how he does.
Beethoven, Mozart, Verdi, Elgar, Dvorak, Hayden... all fine composers and all from a decidedly proper Christian background.
This is not hillbilly music for the six pack/six teeth crowd in Kusinwedden Iowa but Godly and inspired works of beauty to be cherished for a lifetime.
Bless you, my future parolee mother,
Father Mo

For once a Catholic priest is right about something. I also recommend J.S. Bach who was the most devoutly Christian of all classical composers. One of his most famous works is "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". You can't go wrong with one of his many tocattas or fugues as well.

If you want to consider "Greek love" a benefit of Catholicism. Are you a young boy age 10-16, Greeky? If so, Father Mo may be delighted to have you join him in the confessional booth.

I am quite well-versed in my music history, "Father", and I know they are Catholic and I will say I must give credit where credit is due. They are excellent composers. Of course, not in the same league as Bach or Handel, who are proof that real Jesus-Worshipping Christians can produce better music.

At one point, after having given much time to research Catholicism, I did consider it and still highly respect it, but I will never "convert" (is it a real conversion if their the same religion) to it.

Bach wrote musical math problems to teach his children counterpoint... he cannot be compared to Ludwig... are there a number of other Lutherans you suggest as well?

Tom Araya of the so called "anti christian band" Slayer is a devoted christian so would it be acceptable to listen to his music? (he is the singer)

Well the point of there being Baptist composers is irrelevant. God will judge us when the time comes, and Salvation© is the most important. You can hang out with your papist pals Beethoven and Mozart in Hell, for all I'm concerned!
