Hello -
09-28-2013, 06:17 PM
Hello, fellow Christians. I am a Catholic (I know most of you will stop reading there) who is looking for insight on other denominations of Christianity. I have friends who are Pentacostal, Mormon, Methodist, and Lutheran, but none who are Baptist, so here I am. If I say something you disagree with, I apologize that we cannot agree, but I may actually agree with you and have simply misspoken. I may think something you say is un-Christian, and I will let you know.

The mistake that you make is thinking that Ctholics are Christians.
Worshipping Mary, the saints and the pope is directly contravened in the Bible(KJV1611) and institutionalised rape (anal) of young boys is beyond the pale of the city.
There is also no Biblical support for the following:
1. Purgatory.
2. Limbo
3. The Irish.
4. Gay priests
5. Wearing dresses
6. Paid clergy elevated above the people.
7. Confession (to a priest).
8. Mary worship.
9. Church tradition placed on same level as scripture.
10. WW1(priests on both side claimed "god is on our side")
11. WW2(priests on both sides said "God is with us")
12. Beaver being fish
13. Latin
14. Fish on Friday
15. Saints
16. Indulgences.
17. Rosary Bleeds
18. The infallibility of the :church, pope.
19. Killing those that challenged the popes lies.
20. Child molesting priests
21. Pope
22. Rardinals.
23. Bishops
24. Priests.
25. Special apparel to elevate the clergy fron the laity (contrast with 5).
26. Commiting adultery with the nations of the earth (compare with 20).
27. The Inquisition.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Welcome to Landover. How long have you been spitting in Baby Jesus' Face by worshipping his mother instead of Him?

I'm sorry you feel that way, but Catholics are, indeed, Christians. We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Catholics do not worship Mary. That is a very common misconception. Mary is in Heaven much the same as many of our deceased relatives. Catholics simply pray for her intercession to The Lord.
As for the remark about sodomy, I leave this question to be pondered: Are all college football coaches pedophilic rapists, or just Joe Paterno?

Please read John 14:6. Are you doubting Jesus' own words?
Your comparison with Joe Paterno and Ctholisms is unfounded. The boss of college football does not cover up for anal abuse like the pope does.
God bless.

I don't know when I doubted the words of Jesus, so please let me know which part of my post that was in reference to. Thank you.
While I do not condone anyone molesting children or covering up for the molestation of children, I must point out there was much effort to conceal it in Paterno's case.
I'm sorry if I seem confrontational, but I'm working on a slow computer, and I'm attempting to be concise

Allow me to attempt to put it in perspective: you ask your family to pray for you in times of need and in times of blessing. Why not ask your mother to do the same?

No friend, it simply is not true. All part of the big catlick lie.
You might want to read this:
False Religions And Cults
and then this:
Catholics Aren't Christians
As far as you people madly inlove with the whore Mary, You might want to give a once over here:
Mark 3:32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
Mark 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
Mark 3:34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mark 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
( Jesus rejected his mother (and brothers))
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
( Jesus thinks Mary is unimportant compared to the Gospel)
John 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
( Jesus addresses his mother as "woman" and rejects her rudely. To see just how rudely, read this old post.)
John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
( The only command Mary ever gave was to obey Jesus)
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
( The last time Mary is mentioned in the Bible, the apostles are praying with her - not to her)
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
( Praying to Mary is a waste of time)
1st Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1st Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1st John 2:1 ...And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. ( Praying to Mary - even as a mediatrix - is a waste of time)
Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
( The title "queen of heaven" only appears in Jeremiah - and it denotes a FALSE idol.)
However, you have taken the first step toward denoucing your life of perversion and the new direction into the Bosom of Jesus.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Why would you pray to a dead woman? That's retarded.
And if you think she's in Heaven: which Bible verse supports that assertion?

No one here has said Mary is the messiah. No one here has said she is God. I have already likened it to asking your mother to pray for you, for that is precisely what is being done.

Because she is closer to God than any man, woman, or child on this Earth.
1 Corinthians 2:9 She loves God. Case and point.
I am deeply offended by your use of the word "retarded" and can tell by the context it was directed in an offensive way. Please refrain from using such offensive expressions so we can discuss on this thread like adults.

Errr, no I don't, and even if I was Christian I still wouldn't, because I know what the Bible says Jesus said about that:
Matthew 6:25-34 " 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

That's not necessary, dear. Catholics are not Christians, so you wouldn't know. You might want to just be quiet and read for a while instead.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Think about what you just said.
What is the Rosary? The Angelus? Where are they found?
Hint: In The Catholic Book of Prayer. When I used to say "Hail Holy Queen, etc etc, I was not just mouthing words. It was a prayer.
Before you get your righteous indignation all aboil, please note one thing. I am ex-Catholic. (That is not a joke - that is reality). For years, that institution brought me hope, peace, and comfort - and then I started to recognize that GOD will not condone an organization that allows the horrors that it allowed to go unpunished. I have had many people tell me "Oh, you can't blame the entire church. Just those rogue priests." Rogue? Do you have any idea how many there have been through the years? Do a search either in this forum or on the web. The numbers might shock you. I'll tell you this: it is WAY more than what you may have heard on the news. For instance, lesbian nuns and little girls - heard of that much? It happened.
Prayer for Mary's intervention is NOT taught anywhere but in the traditions of the church. The cathechism is not a Bible, though much (not all) of it was based on Biblical teachings. If my Bible tells me that it is good for instruction to learn the ways of GOD, and it tells me to "Study the scriptures," not "Study the scriptures and - oh, hey - like, study these things that these here guys tell you, too," I believe the Bible is enough. Enough.
Have you been to Rome? Within a very short distance of the Vatican, you will find people unsure of where their next meal is coming from. Yet billions of dollars flow into the church annually. Catholic charities do a great work all over the world - but they barely touch the iceberg of what they could do if they chose to give up some of the ornate, needless crap that goes into the cathedrals, basilicas, and small churches.
There is a reason the current pope is leaning toward more liberal ideas and it's not because he has a hotline to Jesus. It's because people are leaving the church in droves. Not only because of the whole sex scandal; for many, that is old news (even though I guarantee you these things are still happening). No, it's because of the ridiculous things that have been perpetuated through the years in the dogma of the church. The only way to attract people back to the church or to attract new members is to relax the rules. Sure, let's let the priests marry. (Which I think is good, don't get me wrong) Let's tell people that GOD will be ok with them regardless of how they live their lives or what they believe (if you follow the Bible, that's far from true).
Sorry those of you that are used to my usual style of posting. This is one that I can't kid about.

Second, as a female, she had no soul
Lastly, why would she pray for me, when what she should of done was pray to Jesus?

Talking to the dead is the DEFINITION of necromancy. How is this an acceptable Christian practice? You might as well cannibalize an infant and make a boardgame out of its bones.
