I doubt if there are any Christian churches left in Portugal where one could attend the Easter festivities. Anyway, you will not go to Hell just for going to godless Portugal, nor will you burn for speaking some of the pig latin, nor will you burn if you see a papist procession where they are worshipping saints. But you will burn if you do any idol worshipping yourself.

Why attend the Easter celebrations? It is the most important date in the Christian calender marking Jesus Christ`s triumph over death. Also the beer will be cheap, there is a parade and live music. How do I prevent myself from worshiping Idols? is it okay just to look?

1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us we should reject any kind of evil, so no, it's not ok to even dabble in something that is contrary to what our LORD GOD teaches us in His Holy Word.
We are a friendly bunch on this forum - welcoming and loving, but I have to express myself: First you come on here speaking some other language and warning us about ours - which is the language of any Holy Bible you purchase in this country unless you're a cathylick messican, and then you try to argue about whether or not American is a valid language. Next you ask if it's ok to bring yourself into temptation instead of what you SHOULD be doing - which is praying for our GOD to lead you NOT into temptation (and I mean praying in proper American). It is not my desire to sup or fellowship with the wicked or to sit in the seat of the scornful.
When you start showing yourself as a person truly seeking JESUS, there may be help for you here in this Godly forum.
Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”
Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man. Amen and Amen

Words and opinions are being placed upon me. Surely it does not matter what language we speak as long as we are understood. The world is full of diversity and there is room for all, America is not the best place in the world nor is it the worst. I seek to experience all that is beautiful in this world. It would be a grey world indeed if a small group dictated what was good and bad and mock those who were not like them.

Ahem. My dear gibberish speaking Portogee. The love of Jesus comes with a few conditions, i.e. it is conditional. He, in His Wisdom, does not love us all. Please see below reference:
John 14:6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
A few conditions there wouldn't you say?
Also the anglicants did not give us the Bible KJV1611 - God did. It is His Word and all of His Word.
I will pray that you will see the folly of your ways.
YIC,
Thomas
Isaiah 66:15
For behold, the Lord wil come with fire, and with his charets like a whirlewinde, to render his anger with furie, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Dear friend:
We don't believe that a small group should dictate what is good and bad. We know that God has dictated what is good and bad and that His words are recorded in the Holy Bible. Jesus told us that only a small group would be saved:
Matthew 7:13-14 KJV: 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Jesus will not save everyone or even everyone who claims to be a Christian:
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.
