I have sometimes been accused by atheists of supporting an uncaring God and, as evidence, they have cited:
Le:21:17: Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
Le:21:18: For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,
Le:21:19: Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,
Le:21:20: Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;
Le:21:21: No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.
As I was composing a sermon, Jesus granted me access to the following news item:
Belfast man David Carlton accused of beating partner with crutch
Quote:
A Belfast man accused of beating his partner with a crutch and his plastered foot has been refused bail. In court was David James Carlton, 26, from Great Victoria Street. He faces a number of charges including attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm and possessing a weapon - a crutch.
A judge said it was "one of the worst types" of domestic violence he had seen. "I'm not even going to dream of entertaining a release on bail," he added.

Here we see that a man who is only temporarily lame
(Lev:21:18) and he is instantly moved to violence - imagine the hatred and fury trying to burst from a full-time gimp! Note also how the crutch, a so-called 'mobility-aid' as described by social workers and other lieberals, is legally " a weapon." (Personally, I'm surprised gimps are given them! This is simply provoking trouble.)
I can see that you are thinking that this man was merely chastising his wife, but, this is not the case as the word "partner" was used. He could have been beating a prostitute, as per
Ge:38:24: And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
But this is not really the point and may be uncharitable. The man was caused to be lame by God, and is thus a sinner - I suggest he is a temporary sinner because he is a temporary gimp, and that
permanent gimps are
permanent sinners and thus we have a reason why gimps (and 'people with flat noses' - nigras) are not allowed into Landover - it is God's Command.
