Hello -
11-27-2009, 12:18 AM
Salam alaikum.
I am Sponge, I am a british born muslim and I am on a journey of discovery. I have come here to learn more about the Christian beliefs and culture.
I feel learning about the faiths of the world will help me through life and to explain mine to other people.
Thank you.

Alaikum Salam.
I thought moslems explained their religion to other people by beheading them or blowing themselves up in their vicinity.

That's not explaining our religion, that's what a lot of people think we are because of the people who use our holy book to commit such atrocities. The vast majority of us distance ourselves from those people.
I just noticed the emoticon on the right hand side of where I'm typing and I'm beginning to think I may not be as welcome here as I thought. Maybe I can ease your opinion of us?

The only way you could ease our opinion of you is to join the one true faith and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Otherwise you're nothing but another hell-bound towel-head.
"And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him."

Naturally. You don't want to be in the blast radius until it's your turn.

My faith lies with my God, but as an intelligent person I'm not completely closed to being convinced otherwise if you have good enough reason. We're not all terrorists, honest!

I can understand the bitterness you probably feel towards people of my faith, all I can offer is that I was not personally responsible for anything committed, and I don't intend to be involved in any future atrocities.

I think the main thing is that you fail to recognize Jesus as The Son of God. We have only one God, who is God, and is comprised of God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. It's sort of looking at an irregular object from different angles. The object is the same, but in outline, it is different.
Now tell us something about this winged horse Allah went to see Mohamed on. Whilst you are thinking about that, this story may help you in your search for Eternal Life.

I am well-studied in world religions, but I have some questions about Islam if you don't mind answering for me.
1) Why do you people all name your kids "Mohammed/Muhammed"? I know there's people named "Jesus" but they're all Mexicans and papists and not True Christians™.
2) Why did Mohammed recommend drinking camel urine? Did he get that thirsty out in the desert?
3) Muslims are supposed to wipe their anuses after defecation using a bare left hand. What if a Muslim's suicide bombing goes wrong and blows off his left arm, leaving only his right. Can he wipe his anus with his right hand?
Thank you.

God bless, Sponge.
Welcome to LBC. The Christian Al-Qaeda of the internet. You might find this group to be not wholly representative of the love of Jesus Christ.
So, why Islam? Is it just because you were born into it or is it something you feel strongly about?
Your servant in our Lord and Savior,
Sam

Why would you want to be even remotely associated with a Religion that recommends blowing themselves up ? Let alone flying jet aircraft into buildings.... I am just going to throw this out there but Jesus does not like it when you commit suicide...
One more question what is the last thing that goes through your mind when you pull the trigger on a Bomb other than your ass hole
change of heart?

Actually, Sponge, I have a non-religious question. What the heck do the lyrics in this song mean:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPoNSh77Lp0
I realize that as a Limey Muslim you may not know Lebanese or Arabic or whatever is being sung. I just want to know if my neighbors are playing some kind of devil-worship music or not.

I just want to know what the deal was with the "fatwa" being issued by the "Supreme Leader" of an entirely Islamic country against Salman Rushdie for writing that book some twenty years ago. I've never read the book, but what did he write that has nearly every batshit crazy Mooslim on the planet still gunning for him? Just curious.
GOT DEMONS? WE CAN HELP! THEY'RE EVERYWHERE AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT THEM ALONE! JESUS WANTS YOU TO BE RID OF THEM ONCE AND FOR ALL! YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO IT ALONE! LET US HELP YOU RIGHT AWAY!

I actually get that. I wouldn't kill the guy but given the chance I'd sure slap him silly for writing that thing.
That is the first and only book that I've ever actually flung out of my hands, violently. It was that bad.
I'm speaking about the writing here, not the message.
I had borrowed it from the library back in the long ago, and was only a few pages in when I read a passage about two guys falling from a plane and talking to each other as they fell. The writing went something like this
"Let's face it, at that distance they could not possibly hear each other. But let's face this too: they did."
That's the point where the book became airborne.

Brother Avatar ,that was wasteful, and you should not be wasteful.I had a copy of the book of mormon, and found a use for it, kindling if I remember correctly. Now I think I will start collecting others like the koran and what not.If you roll them up tightly and use some bailing wire to hold them ,they can be used as small logs in the wood burner!Excellent on a cold winters night.

Woah woah woah, so many questions lol.
Tell me, if I am responsible for the terrorists, are you not responsible for the acts committed by other Christians, or do you distance yourself from those "so-called christians"?

That's a rather delicate question to ask members of LBC. I can't speak for them, but I would venture that the answer probably has to do with which sect committed the act, the act itself and the reason it was done.
For example: Catholic priests molesting children, very bad. Blowing up abortion clinics... the ends likely justify the means.
Would you mind answering my question? Why Islam and how seriously do you take it? Have you ever done the Hajj? What about the Hajib for your women?
