I have often said that non "Biblical Scientists" are wasting their time an our taxes.

Here is a wondrous revelation by secular scientists who must have taken decades to come to this conclusion:

Tel Aviv University archaeologists have revealed that cloth samples found in the Israeli desert present the earliest evidence of plant-based textile dyeing in the region. They were found at a large-scale copper smelting site and a nearby temple in the copper ore district of Timna in Israel's Arava desert and are estimated to date from the 13th-10th centuries BCE.

They found "red" molecules produced from the madder plant and "blue" molecules from the woad plant.

"Both plants were known in antiquity as sources of organic dyes," said Dr. Ben-Yosef. "We know that these plants were used to create elaborate costumes during the Roman period, more than a thousand years later. Now we have evidence in the region of an Edomite society wearing textiles produced the same way, versus an earlier 'primitive' smearing of color on fabric."

Well... surprise, surprise:

So there we have it - atheists giving us proof of the Exodus, that Moses was as real as Jesus, that there was a real King David and a real King Solomon and thus they have proof of God - we did not need any.

More nonsense: is this an example of plant or chemical dyeing? We already know about purple from The Bible, which is not derived from plants.

This university "science" is just so far behind.

Flax, hemp, rush, palm, and papyrus all became material for clothing in the Near East during the period from c. 6000-c. 5000 b.c., and in the centuries that followed, the peoples of the region began using wool and other animal fibers. The first Near Eastern reference to dyes comes from c. 3000 b.c. (Chinese sources on the subject are even older), and the coloring agent mentioned was madder. This is a plant that grows in northern Africa and southwestern Asia, and which contains in its roots coloring that varies from a pinkish to a brownish red.
