If I may piggy back on your excellent points, Sisters? If God did change His position on homosexuality and gave us new marching orders, then He would be retroactively condemning all those who obeyed His will in the past.
It strikes me that there is no more ridiculously inconsistent claim about the nature of God, His commandments and Christianity than the "that was back then" defense for accepting previously outlawed behavior and positions as part and parcel of "God's Love" today.
