What is fall?
'Tis the season when leaves
Abandon their places
On the branches of trees
And, having made a few circles
And zigzags in the cool,
Damp autumn air,
Fall to the ground
To become carpet
For everyone to walk on.
What is fall of man?
'Tis something that happened
A long time ago,
When Adam and Eve
Disobeyed God's orders
And had to abandon their place
In the Garden of Bliss.
They lived and they worked,
They multiplied and eventually died,
And were buried in the ground
To become carpet
For everyone to walk on.
But then came Jesus -
He lived among men
And died on the cross
And was buried for a while,
But He rose from the dead
And went up and up
To be with His Father.
And now sin and death
Are powerless before Him
And His followers.
Because of Jesus, we will
Go up and up
To be with Him
For eternity.
Because of Jesus
We don't have to fall
And become carpet
