The "Bed but don't wed" reward for men in the missionay field makes me think the effort to line up white wives is futile.
We have men in the field spreading the Word of Jesus Christ. They are paid little and live in unpleasant outposts.
Their only compensation is a little pleasure of the flesh, which they justly deserve. Jesus might not want them to be assigned a wife from home base.
