Sister Mitza, you raise an interesting question. I have found a list of
nonbelievers who received the Nobel Prize and there is much of interest there, not least in the heading:

A quick look down the list shows that it also includes a Presbyterian, a Buddhist and a Quaker - Nonbelievers all!!! Well done to whoever compiled it.
There are some names to make you shudder, not least the "geneticist" Francis Crick, who thought he could improve on God's Holy Work, and the animal torturer Schrödinger.
As an aside, I see that Daniel Schechtman claims to have been born in Tel Aviv, "Israel". Given that he was born in 1941, he was obviously born in what was then Palestine. Good thing he wasn't up for the Geography prize.
