Re: Tipping your waiter for good service.

I'm no Jew, so I will tip, but only if the server is wearing a Vote Republican pin. Otherwise, I figure she's just part of the 47% who're looking for a handout.

Re: Tipping your waiter for good service.

Why would I tip a waiter for taking my order to the kitchen and bringing me my food when my wife will do it for free? At least my wife won't try to make annoying small talk with me. What do I think of the weather? I hardly think that's any of your buissiness!

Since I don't pay taxes, I don't feel obligated to tip either. Praise Jesus!

My husband and me were in a restaurant last month to celebrate his birthday and the waiter was a colombian who barely understand us, so it was difficult for him to take our order, and the other ones were busy because the place was full of people, so we had to treat to talk with him. Finally he brought us the food, but after that inconvenience he decided to not give him a single cent, but I think we made him a favor by not giving him money for beer, weed or nothing like that

By "tip" do you mean tipping them over?

Whenever I dine out, I always leave three Chick Tracts in lieu of a monetary tip -- one for the waitress, one for the busboy, and one for the cook.

That is the most bigoted thing I have ever heard about servers. They ALL party and do drugs huh? Shows how out of touch you are to the world. No wonder servers hate having customers like you, because YOU ADD TO THE STEREOTYPE. Servers make 2.13 an hour in some states, so a MONETARY tip is necessary. How would you like if I came to your church and took money from you because I didn't like your service? Same thing.

No True Christian(tm) would stoop to a serving job. Jesus has seen fit to bless us with the spirit and stictuitiveness of a no or wealth creator, not some two bit skivvy in a greasy spoon restaurant in Idaho.

                    God bless.

No True Christian should be a servant with a little salary, we have right to have slaves if we want to. Looks at this good old times photo, a white and clean man with six filthy slaves at his feet. Bible tell us that slavery is ok

So I need to pay because the server is crap at negotiating a reasonable wage for himself? I need to pay because the server chooses to be unskilled and uneducated and unwilling to find a better paying job? I'm not taking anyone's money by not tipping, in fact I'm making sure my money goes to the people who really need it by giving it to God by way of our church. If the server actually needs the money God will make sure it ends up with him, and if he doesn't need it, the money will go to someone who does need it, as is God's plan. It is not up to me to interfere with God's plan by tipping waiters.
                        Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
^^ Read that waiters, if you have need of something pray for it, instead of whining for tips.

And if the waiter really does deserve minimum wage like is paid for other unskilled and uneducated jobs involving only minimal light labor and a lot of standing around, he doesn't need more than $5 in tips per hour from all his tables combined, so tipping $ 0.50 on the bill for a 10 person table is more than reasonable, I would even call it generous.
                        Leviticus 26:15-16
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

"Tips" is just shorthand for another use for the charge for tippling intoxicating likker and for intoxicated staff to tip one another overlustfully. Once the restarant sign is closed, anything can happened. When I was in college I worked in at a Mexican restarant where the signage looked like a cross between Mayan art and Ernie Bushmiller's Nancy. I strongly believe Ernie Bushmiller should be investigated.

Yeah, I've not been anywhere too poor to pay a living wage. Even to waiters. I guess that's why it's called the third world. Some parts are quite rich.

                            Others less so.

                              Hypocrisy

Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” ~Matthew 19:21.

The irony and hypocrisy in this forum is amusing. You really think this group of hate-mongerers, bigots, and falsifiers will receive the glory of God and be accepted into his kingdom? God created all men equal, not just white, American homeowners. You complain about these people demanding handouts, and yet this is exactly what your church does. You think your money does not go directly into the pockets of your Pastors? They are robbing you and God blind. (Malachi 3:8)

I ask of you, whatever happened to "Love thy neighbor?"

For when Jesus walked the Earth, it was not for the benefit of the elite. He walked amongst the sick, and the poor, and the hungry. You claim to strive to be like Jesus, yet you condemn these people for their misfortunes.

Let us not forget one of the many principles on which this great nation was founded, inscribed on the tome held by our Lady of Liberty:

"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame.
                              With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

America is supposed to be a gateway to freedom from poverty and oppression, if not for the elitist bigots like yourselves. You wish to reference Old Testament law when it is convenient for you, but you forget all to easily the words of Jesus in the eighth chapter of John:

"The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court, they said to Him, 'Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?' They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, 'He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.'"

I take this to mean that each of you consider yourself free from sin, as quick as you are to condemn your brothers and sisters, for are we not all children of God?

And for my words you would condemn me as a "witch" or "unsaved trash," how confident you must be in your salvation...

"Judge not, that ye may not be judged, for in what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you." ~Matthew 7:1-2
"one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law" - Matthew 5:18
