Would the radiation from their synchrotron, at whatever wavelength they hived off, have an effect on the radiometric dating? Although nuclear power plants kill far fewer people that alternatives such as coal overall, when they explode there's quite a lot of radio hanging around for ages. Is it any wonder that dating technique gets thrown off kilter?
If this serpent arrived in Dorset anno mundi 1138.928 days then later became irradiated in the synchrotron (or part thereof) to produce a false reading, can we say there's a conversion factor of
48,071,520 approx. based on a median estimate of ca150 million yrs according to post-irradiation radiometry? Or whatever they were doing?
Perhaps I've misunderstood, but if science goggles give errors in the 50million range that could be very useful for funding and I imagine synchrotrons are n/a from the $2 shop..
