Dr Toole, the misery is not yet over for the Godless English. Their president (Mr Cameroon) having resigned, the country is now trying to elect a new leader.
As I know you take a keen interest in such matters, here is how it works.
1. Anyone in the ruling party who feels like being president puts their name on a list.
2. Elected members of parliament in that party then vote for their favorite. The one with the fewest votes is eliminated.
3. This process continues until there are only 2 remaining applicants for the job.
4. Because of democracy, there is a public vote on the final 2 candidates. However, it's not so bad because the only people who get to vote are the 150,000-or-so paid-up party members, who are mostly quite wealthy and unlikely to vote foolishly.
You might wonder what could possibly go wrong? They started out with 5 candidates, 3 men and 2 uppity women. But something is not right here, maybe the hanging chads were upside-down or something, because ALL 3 MEN WERE ELIMINATED!
So we are now faced with a choice between these two. You may find it difficult to tell them apart. I know I do.
They both claim to be the next Margaret Thatcher
, but all I see are two would-be Hillarys with bad teeth. (Okay, the one on the left has wisely kept her mouth shut, but we all know why.)
Please pray for us. Having a woman in charge is not going to end well.
Proverbs 14:1
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
