I originally used dollars because this forum is mainly American. I currently live in a country that uses euros. And the only reason why portuguese money has any value is that other Eurostanistan countries are backing you up. You have been so lazy that you country is in bankrupt. That is also why 2000 dollars for 3rd world country hotel apartment sounds really expensive.

American modern language long time ago.
First American dictionaries were published in 19th century and currently there is even Webster's New World Dictionary of the American Language published.
