Re: Why do good things happen to bad people?

The fact that most of those monsters survived to die at an old age indicates only one thing: They were designed for this world, not for His world.

No, it shows no matter how bad the sin, Jesus can and will forgive you, if you will just ask Him. Friedmann, even you can be forgiven, despite the evil you have wrought, Jesus has suffered for you too, please let it not have been in vain!

It's probably Satan. But it could also be that one of their ancestors (up to 1,000 generations back) did something good. Deuteronomy 7:9
1 Corinthians 14:34 Shut up and get back in the kitchen!

Well as long as your on Earth God can punish you directly while if you go to Hell the job gets relegated to Satan,so bye keeping bad people alive longer God gets to make them suffer more.
If I had a nickle for every time I see a man damning himself to an eternity of pain and suffering,God would get an infinity of nickels.

Wrong. If you'd read your Bible (instead if trying to tell people who have studied it for a long time what's in it), you'd find that Satan will be there getting punished BY GOD right along side all the sinners (by sinners, I mean the people who have not accepted Christ's unconditional love and obeyed God's commandments to the letter, there are only 630 or so described with varying degrees of ambiguity in the Bible, how hard could that be?).

Re: Why do good things happen to bad people?

The suffering God inflicts while we are on Earth is nothing compared to the suffering doled out by Satan. I gladly take all the misery, disappointment and heartache God gives me each and every day if that is what it takes to even remotely prevent me from going to Hell.
I like to think it is about a child who is repeatedly raped by a parent. It is not really that bad, once the child learns to relax. Certainly a lot better than not having the occasional meal. What really matters is the parental involvement in the child's life and giving attention.
I often tell my kids that the rare and meager daily punishments I impose upon them for heinous acts like speaking without being spoken to is nothing compared to the joy Satan will get from searing their flesh off of their bones as they watch. Placing a little ones hand on the hot stove is an excellent teaching tool.
God causes regular pain and suffering to us to remind us it could be a lot worse.

Re: Why do good things happen to bad people?

We need to be careful here in saying who the "bad people" are. For example, a man may lead a horrible life, torturing babies, killing children, raping woman, and, even worse, raping men, but might be foreordained by God to be saved before he dies. Therefore, although he appears to be a bad man, in God's eyes, he's actually a paragon of virtue, despite his multitude of sins, because those sins will be forgiven by the blood of Jesus.

Of course, most people who do these things are destined to burn in Hell, so they still deserve a severe rebuking by all True Christians™.

Are you kidding me? Hitler wasnt that bad. Seriously are you joking cause thats not funny. You are stupider than the average village idiot if you believe that. You know why good things happen to bad people think about it real hard and let your weak little mind make up another frivilous excuse to keep your faith. Pathetic. I bet you still believe in santa and the toothfairy. Seriously i read in a book they were real and one better i actually SAW santa claus at the mall it was profound made me a true believer he said that the people who dont believe wont get presents and that people would try and convince me hes not real but never stop believing because their just saying that to test my faith

Re: Why do good things happen to bad people?

I think you may have been misled here. Santa Claus is a fictitious character introduced to gullible and trusting children by their parents. No child is born with a belief in Santa.

Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit on the other hand are evidenced around us on a daily basis and in all aspects of our lives and the Love of Jesus is imbued in them at conception.

To continue to believe in Santa after, say, the age of 5 is a little naive. The presents he brings are "of this World" and can be seen in the stores and catalogs around you. The Gifts of God are spiritual and eternal and are not for sale (although generous tithing is expected.)

Yes, Santa Clauses are seen but those are the equivalent of False Prophets - mere deceivers clothed mentally and physically in the robes of office to lead the young into sins of the flesh and envy. God is not seen because His Glory is overwhelming and this proves He is as He says He is in the Bible.

Re: Why do good things happen to bad people?

In Romans 5:8 we are taught, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Despite the evil, wicked, sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loves us. He loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son to be the propitiation for all of our sins - past, present, and future. Truly He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world, for He who knew no sin became the sacrificial lamb. He willingly gave His life to pay a debt that He did not owe, and one that none of us could have ever paid on our own. Because of His atoning sacrifice a way has been made possible for each of us, both good people, as well as bad people through the process of repentance, to one day return home to live eternally with our Heavenly Father.

God is good, just, loving, kind, and merciful. The Lord is aware of us all. He has shown us the way to return to Him. But, we have the choice whether to remain faithful or turn away from Him. The Lord can make weak things become strong, including our faith. We will be blessed exceedingly through the eternities if we will have faith and put our trust in Him and endure to the end!
