Jesus bucked traditions. The tradition of trying to obligate God with cumlocutive jive to the
nth degree. Of doing evil rather than good on The Sabbath. Of fleecing the ignorant by keeping them ignorant while building lives of luxury for the parasitic few. The tradition of rejecting God. And now we get this Baylor woman.
"God got it wrong!" her appointment declares.
"I know better than God, better than Jesus. I disagree with the most fundamental principles of the Christian message. The Bible brings false teaching (false because I disagree with it) and I'm here to turn that around." This stuff makes me sick. The Bible does not need to be translated into Swahili and Quechua then combined into English with gang signs added so we can understand it. The Bible means what it says. Christians believe The Bible. People who reject The Bible are not Christians.
I TIMOTHY 2 . KJV . context
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Teaching is what happens at a university. One of my first books was
Noddy at the Seaside. When reading it I didn't need to wonder what the title meant. Was it Noddy who went to the seaside? Or maybe the title was culturally nuanced and it really meant Miss Pink Cat went to the seaside. Or perhaps I was reading through the lens of modernity? In which case
seaside really means
Pyongyang and the trip was an example of friendship diplomacy. The Bible is self explanatory. God did not make a mistake. Paul did not get blotto and write the wrong words, conveying the opposite THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what God told him to write.
Baylor implements that exact opposite. The opposite of what God commands. The opposite of what Paul recorded for us. To do so requires something that is always unnecessary when reading The Bible. To do so requires teaching. Teaching that The Bible means something other than what the words actually signify. Instruction that in fact God means THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what He has told us. That is why Baylor University can no longer be considered a Christian university. Unlike Jesus, the trend they are bucking is accepting His word at face value just as He explained we should. Salvation does not rely on poststructuralist analyses of arcane prose. It is straightforward and it has been explained by Jesus leaving no room for contrary opinions.
MATTHEW 18 . KJV . look up
2 Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
What could be clearer than that?
