I totally agree. If we follow the voice of our emotions, we inevitably refuse to perform many tasks that GOD considers necessary. I, for instance, would not accept the decimation of Fallen heathen nations (exemplified in my opening post) including women and children unless it was ordered by
Jesus. There is necessary winnowing of sinners but I would be much to empathetic to support tasks like that if I were left to my own devices. But -
thank Jesus - I am not. I can look at the Good Book and perceive that it is all for the
Greater Good.
Take this:
Psalm 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Or this:
Luke 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
No, I would never consider following the orders of those verses if I didn't know better. But I know. God is about EVERYTHING. HE IS THAT HE IS.
Joshua 24:24 And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
I AM THAT I AM
Morality is too complex for a man to comprehend. We need
a guiding voice to obey. Then it becomes simple and straightforward. Oh, happy day, when I finally realized this!
Yours in Christ,
