You are very, very confused, aren't you? The part in bold has absolutely nothing to do with citing more than one source. It has to do with more than one person evaluating the evidence.

Juries (note the plural form) have more than one person so that a variety of people can decide on the reliability of the evidence and come to a verdict, either unanimously or by a majority. And they may fail to agree. BUT there may only be a single piece of evidence to evaluate, i.e. one source being cited.
