Pope actually talks sense for once

While scouring the darknets for evidence of imminent terrorist attacks, I saw a faint glimmer of light in an unexpected place. According to this fly-by-night underground socialist rag, the Pope finally said something right for a change (well - up to a point, he still is crazy as a bat):

Quote:

"If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched," he said, throwing a pretend punch at the doctor, who was standing beside him. "You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others."
I'm starting to see some hope for the world after many centuries of decline since Obama took office. Now with the new all Republican Congress we can anticipate laws protecting the rights of Christians of all faith from being insulted. The risk of Sharia Law take-over of America will decrease substantially once blasphemers realize they will face the full weight of federal law enforcement as well as private action by concerned citizens (such as those brave French brothers) for laughing at our sacred beliefs.

I don't get it. What is wrong about making fun of Jews, Roman Catholics, Muslims, Hindus, Mormons, Pentecostals, Scientologists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Pastafarians, Lutherans and Buddhists? I mean, seriously, all these people are worshipping the wrong religion and will burn in Hell for that for all eternity (John 15:6). How can we not joke about that? :sinner: :haha:

Brother Cranky, please don't expect me to defend the crazy words of a lunatic... but I see a future where God's believers - and I mean the True God here, not some made-up deity mentioned in some old parchment - can be protected from being insulted.

I don't mind being insulted. It just proves I will go to Heaven. Matthew 5:10 "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

I will have an eternity in Heaven to laugh at those who are now insulting me and who will then be burning in Hell!

Lots of catholic saints should be de-saintified then. They were originally saintified for insulting non catlick faiths and then being killed for it. But if that's not allowed Pope Frank should go through the thousands of pages of saints and delete all those who insulted other faiths.

Right you are, brother Cranky. And in the meanwhile, we should also dish out punches (as Euro-weenie Frankie suggests) to the offenders. But of course, in America we have the Godly death penalty and the 2nd Amendment to help us make our "punching" all the more effective. Praise Jesus!

The Pope is so wrong about this.
It is our duty to ridicule false gods and false religions. We can save souls by doing this. Following the Pope's thinking we would just let otherwise good people be sent to hell.

I know, right? At least in the past, the Catholic Church had balls, killing and torturing millions of unbelievers and heretics.

Today, they are just a bunch of sissies afraid to come out of their closets.

I half agree with the popes statement, as part of free speech people are allowed to defend their beliefs as much as people are allowed to insult them. HOWEVER...defend you beliefs with words not violence, as Phillip Defranco put it (and im paraphrasing here) "if you insult me I have the right to tell you your wrong and an idiot, I dont have the right to go and punch you in the face for insulting me".

the attacks on Charlie Hebo are entirely unjustified...no matter what people say about you, your religion, your race, gender, or anything else you have no right to murder them.

Oh and if you do the Streisand Effect with happen and you'll look far worse then then people you attacked.

Righto!

Unless of course the Lord thy God instructs otherwise. If, for example, the LORD instructs His faithful servant to inflict capital punishment for people who don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); witches (Exodus 22:17); homosexuals (Leviticus 20:13;Romans 1:24-32); fortunetellers (Leviticus 20:27) kids who hit their dads (Exodus 21:15); kids who curse their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); adulterers (Leviticus 20:10); non-Christians (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); atheists (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); false prophets (Zechariah 13:3); the entire town of one who worships another god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); non-virgin brides (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); and blasphemers (Leviticus 24:10-16), then one would be remiss to ignore such a Divine Mission™. But clearly Pope Franny there isn't listening to the LORD, and so it's silly to think the LORD would give him the go-ahead any time soon.

Ahem. Unless God says, "Murder them," or "Murder them and everyone in their family and town and community." See above.

I don't think God is too worried about what a Jewess thinks.
