Ladies: Optimum use of your washing machine

The home washing machine is a complex mechanism that has a variety of settings. I'm sure that some women are ovewhelmed by the number of options and settings and just leave the thing set to run at fast/fast mode. I don't need my dress shirts to be roughed up as much as my socks and underwear, that's why the machine has different settings.

Here is a video and an iPhone app that can help you figure out if your machine is achieving the proper number of RPM's (that's revolutions per minute):

I hope this helps any women who were wondering what the different settings are for.

Brother Nobar, you are a fountain of information. How did you learn so much about the world of women? :hmmm:

My wife currently uses a washboard that has been handed down in her family for generations. And my unmentionables are never as soft as when they are beaten dry against a stone down by the river.

Once she births another son or two for me, I might consider getting her one of those newfangled contraptions, so her added laundry duties won't interfere with her other chores.

Brother Nobar, forgive my female ignorance, but that little movie makes no sense to me.

Here is the beautiful washing machine Mr. Keeper bought for me 4 birthdays ago:

My washing machine isn't fancy enough for me to choose RPMs.

I wanted one of the fancy front loaders, but Seth took one look at the price and bought the basic whirlpool.

I absolutly adore the washboard idea! Any ideas how I might come across a good sturdy one? Also, I live in a second story apartment. What might be the best way to go about washing them?

Personally, I find this model to be the most effective:

I'm not sure where can you buy one, but I had an Amish make it for me.
