Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Let me begin by stating that Christian God approves of and enjoys warfare (Exodus 15:3, Numbers 14:12), and throughout the Bible, He has given us some very specific rules how to conduct warfare. Sometimes, God even participates in the battles Himself (Exodus 14:27-28, Joshua 10:10-11). Although the warfare descriptions are found mainly in the Old Testament, we know that Jesus agrees with all of them (John 10:30). However, warfare is also mentioned briefly in the New Testament (Matthew 10:34, Revelation 19:11, Revelation 19:18-21). Unfortunately, in the 20th century, these Godly rules of warfare have been overturned by the so called Geneva Conventions. In the following posts I will analyze the main theses of these four conventions and I will contrast them with God’s rules. Since several articles are just introductory or restatement of previous theses, I will address only the articles that introduce new statements, in order to keep my rebuttal (relatively) short and clear. The First Geneva Convention deals with the treatment of sick and wounded people on the battlefield. You can read the full text here: http://www.icrc.org/ihl.nsf/full/365?opendocument Chapter I, Art 3: (1) Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria. This is totally opposite to God’s law expressed in the Bible. God clearly states that during a combat He wants all of the enemies dead, with no wounded people left behind: Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
To this end, the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons: (a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture; God usually does not want any enemy left alive, so that takes care of the murder part of this statement. As far as the rest of this statement, I guess it depends how do you define “mutilation, cruel treatment and torture.” Here is a description of God approved treatment of enemies: Quote:
If all males are killed, then there are no hostages. Periodically, kings are taken captive, but only to be killed later (see Joshua 10:22-26 above, compare also Joshua 8:23 and Joshua 8:29). And again, small/young Moabite individuals may be taken as slaves (2 Samuel 8:2). (c ) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment; That depends on the definition of “humiliating and degrading treatment.” God approves treatment of prisoners as described above in Joshua 10:24-25. Art. 4. Neutral Powers shall apply by analogy the provisions of the present Convention to the wounded and sick, and to members of the medical personnel and to chaplains of the armed forces of the Parties to the conflict, received or interned in their territory, as well as to dead persons found. See verses above. All enemy men will be dead or enslaved. No need for protection of the medical personnel. Women shall be treated with all consideration due to their sex. According to the Bible, women have to be either enslaved or killed (depending on their nationality; more details on that later). Quote:
I have already tackled the issue of prisoners when talking about taking hostages. Let’s just look at one Biblical example: Quote:
This is wrong on so many levels. Since the enemies are despised by God when alive, why would they be respected after their death? Quote:

Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
The Third Geneva Convention relates to the treatment of the prisoners of war. The text of the entire convention can be read here: http://www.icrc.org/ihl.nsf/FULL/375
Chapter I Art 3. ... (1) Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria. To this end the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons: (a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture; (b) taking of hostages; ( c) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular, humiliating and degrading treatment; This statement is very similar to Art. 3 of the 1st Geneva Covention; again, it stands in clear contradiction to God’s will: Quote:
(d) the passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples. Verses above show that no human court is necessary when God has already given His verdict. Part III. Captivity Art 17. .... No physical or mental torture, nor any other form of coercion, may be inflicted on prisoners of war to secure from them information of any kind whatever. Prisoners of war who refuse to answer may not be threatened, insulted, or exposed to unpleasant or disadvantageous treatment of any kind. Wrong. God allows not only to threaten and insult the prisoners (Joshua 10:24), but also to kill them in a public, painful, and humiliating way. Section II. Internment of Prisoners of War Chapter I. General Observations Art 22. Prisoners of war may be interned only in premises located on land and affording every guarantee of hygiene and healthfulness. There won’t be any time to intern the prisoners of war. They all should be either killed or enslaved soon after capture. Chapter II. Quarters, Food and Clothing of Prisoners of War Art 25. Prisoners of war shall be quartered under conditions as favourable as those for the forces of the Detaining Power who are billeted in the same area. The said conditions shall make allowance for the habits and customs of the prisoners and shall in no case be prejudicial to their health. The Bible doesn’t say anything about feeding prisoners before killing or enslaving them, so this statement is against the will of God. Chapter III. Hygene and Medical Attention Art 29. The Detaining Power shall be bound to take all sanitary measures necessary to ensure the cleanliness and healthfulness of camps and to prevent epidemics. The Bible doesn’t say anything about medical treatment of prisoners before killing or enslaving them, so they should not receive it. Chapter IV. Medical Personnel and Chaplains Retained to Assist Prisoners of War Art 33. Members of the medical personnel and chaplains while retained by the Detaining Power with a view to assisting prisoners of war, shall not be considered as prisoners of war. When God says that all men (Joshua 11:14), or all men, women, and children (1 Samuel 15:3) should be killed, that means all. No exceptions for the medical personnel or for some ungodly “chaplains.” Chapter V. Religious, Intellectual and Physical Activities Art 34. Prisoners of war shall enjoy complete latitude in the exercise of their religious duties, including attendance at the service of their faith, on condition that they comply with the disciplinary routine prescribed by the military authorities. That is absolutely ridiculous. Why would God allow some Hell bound heathens to practice their abominations? Quote:
Section III. Labour of Prisoners of War Art 49. The Detaining Power may utilize the labour of prisoners of war who are physically fit, taking into account their age, sex, rank and physical aptitude, and with a view particularly to maintaining them in a good state of physical and mental health. Finally, a reasonable statement! God agrees (2 Samuel 8:2). Art 52. Unless he be a volunteer, no prisoner of war may be employed on labour which is of an unhealthy or dangerous nature. No prisoner of war shall be assigned to labour which would be looked upon as humiliating for a member of the Detaining Power's own forces. Given that the surviving prisoners are enslaved (2 Samuel 8:2), they have to do whatever their masters tell them to do. Section V. Relations of Prisoners of War With the Exterior Art 70. Immediately upon capture, or not more than one week after arrival at a camp, even if it is a transit camp, likewise in case of sickness or transfer to hospital or to another camp, every prisoner of war shall be enabled to write direct to his family... and to the Central Prisoners of War Agency provided for in Article 123... informing his relatives of his capture, address and state of health. The said cards... may not be delayed in any manner. The Bible doesn’t say anything about informing the family. If we assume that the families are either dead (Deuteronomy 2:34) or enslaved (Deuteronomy 20:13-14), that would not be necessary anyway. Chapter III. Penal and Disciplinary Sanctions I. General Provisions Art 82. A prisoner of war shall be subject to the laws, regulations and orders in force in the armed forces of the Detaining Power; the Detaining Power shall be justified in taking judicial or disciplinary measures in respect of any offence committed by a prisoner of war against such laws, regulations or orders. The Detaining Power follows the laws of God, which give specific provisions on treatment of prisoners of war, as detailed earlier. Part IV. Termination of Captivity Section I. Direct Repatriation and Accommodation in Neutral Countries Art 109. Subject to the provisions of the third paragraph of this Article, Parties to the conflict are bound to send back to their own country, regardless of number or rank, seriously wounded and seriously sick prisoners of war, after having cared for them until they are fit to travel, in accordance with the first paragraph of the following Article. There is no such thing as “termination of captivity.” Surviving prisoners are enslaved forever (Leviticus 25:44-46). Section III. Death of Prisoners of War Art 120. ....The detaining authorities shall ensure that prisoners of war who have died in captivity are honourably buried, if possible according to the rites of the religion to which they belonged, and that their graves are respected, suitably maintained and marked so as to be found at any time. No. Enemies don’t deserve honorable treatment: Quote:
PART V. Information Bureaux and Relief Societies for Prisoners of War Art 122. Upon the outbreak of a conflict and in all cases of occupation, each of the Parties to the conflict shall institute an official Information Bureau for prisoners of war who are in its power. The Bible doesn’t mention a necessity to establish such a body, hence, God doesn’t approve of this foolish idea. Art 123. A Central Prisoners of War Information Agency shall be created in a neutral country. The International Committee of the Red Cross shall, if it deems necessary, propose to the Powers concerned the organization of such an Agency. The function of the Agency shall be to collect all the information it may obtain through official or private channels respecting prisoners of war, and to transmit it as rapidly as possible to the country of origin of the prisoners of war or to the Power on which they depend. Again, God did not give us instructions to do such a thing. |
Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Finally, the Fourth Convention deals with the treatment of civilians during a war. You can read the entire text of the convention here: http://www.icrc.org/ihl.nsf/full/380
Part I. General Provisions Art. 3. In the case of armed conflict not of an international character occurring in the territory of one of the High Contracting Parties, each Party to the conflict shall be bound to apply, as a minimum, the following provisions: (1) Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria. This is totally opposite from the God’s rule on this subject. First of all, God differentiates between different types of people. In some cases, women may be spared: Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
(a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture; (b) taking of hostages; As I have shown above, it’s God’s decision whether women and children should be killed or enslaved. ( c) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment; I guess that depends on definition of “humiliating and degrading treatment.” Here is an example of a treatment approved by God: Quote:
The only court that we need is the Judgement of the Lord. And it is loud and clear (see verses above). Art. 4. Persons protected by the Convention are those who, at a given moment and in any manner whatsoever, find themselves, in case of a conflict or occupation, in the hands of a Party to the conflict or Occupying Power of which they are not nationals. Totally false. See verses above. Nationals of a State which is not bound by the Convention are not protected by it. Nationals of a neutral State who find themselves in the territory of a belligerent State, and nationals of a co-belligerent State, shall not be regarded as protected persons while the State of which they are nationals has normal diplomatic representation in the State in whose hands they are. Actually, God even gives provisions how to deal with people who tricked us into signing a peace treaty: Quote:

Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Part II. General Protection of Populations Against Certain Consequences of War
Art. 13. The provisions of Part II cover the whole of the populations of the countries in conflict, without any adverse distinction based, in particular, on race, nationality, religion or political opinion, and are intended to alleviate the sufferings caused by war. This is false because, as I have demonstrated earlier, God hates some nations more than others. Art. 14. In time of peace, the High Contracting Parties and, after the outbreak of hostilities, the Parties thereto, may establish in their own territory and, if the need arises, in occupied areas, hospital and safety zones and localities so organized as to protect from the effects of war, wounded, sick and aged persons, children under fifteen, expectant mothers and mothers of children under seven. No such zones are necessary, given that all women and children will be either dead or enslaved, depending on their nationality (see verses above). Art. 16. The wounded and sick, as well as the infirm, and expectant mothers, shall be the object of particular protection and respect. The Bible doesn’t mention anything like that, so this idea is simply wrong. Art. 18. Civilian hospitals organized to give care to the wounded and sick, the infirm and maternity cases, may in no circumstances be the object of attack but shall at all times be respected and protected by the Parties to the conflict. That is not necessary, given that all enemy civilians will be either dead or enslaved. Art.24. The Parties to the conflict shall take the necessary measures to ensure that children under fifteen, who are orphaned or are separated from their families as a result of the war, are not left to their own resources, and that their maintenance, the exercise of their religion and their education are facilitated in all circumstances. Their education shall, as far as possible, be entrusted to persons of a similar cultural tradition. In cases where children are kept alive, and not slaughtered (Psalm 137:9), they will be enslaved by God-fearing people, and receive Godly education (including healthy beatings: Exodus 21:20-21), not some heathen mumbo-jumbo. Art. 25. All persons in the territory of a Party to the conflict, or in a territory occupied by it, shall be enabled to give news of a strictly personal nature to members of their families, wherever they may be, and to receive news from them. This correspondence shall be forwarded speedily and without undue delay. The Bible doesn’t specify such a provision, hence, it’s wrong. Part III. Status and Treatment of Protected Persons Section I. Provisions common to the territories of the parties to the conflict and to occupied territories Art. 27. Protected persons are entitled, in all circumstances, to respect for their persons, their honour, their family rights, their religious convictions and practices, and their manners and customs. They shall at all times be humanely treated, and shall be protected especially against all acts of violence or threats thereof and against insults and public curiosity. Wrong. The Bible doesn’t say anything that would suggest respect for slaves. They are property (Leviticus 25:45), and need to be punished, even if they didn’t know that they were doing something wrong (Luke 12:47-48). Women shall be especially protected against any attack on their honour, in particular against rape, enforced prostitution, or any form of indecent assault. Wrong. This has been discussed on Landover forum countless times, for example here: http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=40794 Without prejudice to the provisions relating to their state of health, age and sex, all protected persons shall be treated with the same consideration by the Party to the conflict in whose power they are, without any adverse distinction based, in particular, on race, religion or political opinion. Wrong. As discussed earlier, God hates some nations more than others, and gives us different treatment instructions for each. Art. 28. The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations. Finally something God can agree upon. If women and children were in the city attacked by God fearing forces, that’s their loss: Quote:
It’s doubtful whether a woman or child could provide any useful information. However, enemy civilians might be spared if they do cooperate: Quote:
We have talked already about murder, torture, corporal punishment, and mutilation. However, God is in fact against science (1 Timothy 6:20), so that part of this statement is actually Biblically correct. Art. 33. No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited. Wrong. God supports collective penalties (Genesis 19:24-25; note that even infants were killed). Pillage is prohibited. Wrong: Genesis 34:27-29, Deuteronomy 20:13-14, 2 Chronicles 28:8. Section II. Art. 37. Protected persons who are confined pending proceedings or serving a sentence involving loss of liberty, shall during their confinement be humanely treated. Wrong. God doesn’t say that such people should be treated differently than any other enemy civilian. Art. 38. With the exception of special measures authorized by the present Convention, in particularly by Article 27 and 41 thereof, the situation of protected persons shall continue to be regulated, in principle, by the provisions concerning aliens in time of peace. In any case, the following rights shall be granted to them:... (3) they shall be allowed to practise their religion and to receive spiritual assistance from ministers of their faith.... As I have discussed earlier, God doesn’t approve when heathens practice their abominable “religions.” (5) children under fifteen years, pregnant women and mothers of children under seven years shall benefit by any preferential treatment to the same extent as the nationals of the State concerned. God doesn’t say anything like that in the Bible, so this statement is simply wrong. Art. 39. Protected persons who, as a result of the war, have lost their gainful employment, shall be granted the opportunity to find paid employment. That opportunity shall, subject to security considerations and to the provisions of Article 40, be equal to that enjoyed by the nationals of the Power in whose territory they are. Wrong, because slavery is not a paid employment. Art. 45. Protected persons shall not be transferred to a Power which is not a party to the Convention. Wrong. Slaves can be sold (Leviticus 25:45). Art. 46. In so far as they have not been previously withdrawn, restrictive measures taken regarding protected persons shall be cancelled as soon as possible after the close of hostilities. Wrong. Slaves stay slaves. See verse above. |
Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Section III. Occupied territories
Art. 50. The Occupying Power shall, with the cooperation of the national and local authorities, facilitate the proper working of all institutions devoted to the care and education of children. Wrong. As far as I know, there’s no need to educate slaves. Art. 51. The Occupying Power may not compel protected persons to serve in its armed or auxiliary forces. No pressure or propaganda which aims at securing voluntary enlistment is permitted. Wrong. Master can force his slaves to do whatever he wishes, and slaves have to obey (Ephesians 6:5). Art. 53. Any destruction by the Occupying Power of real or personal property belonging individually or collectively to private persons, or to the State, or to other public authorities, or to social or cooperative organizations, is prohibited, except where such destruction is rendered absolutely necessary by military operations. This is an oxymormon. The enemy civilians became property. A property cannot own anything. Art. 65. The penal provisions enacted by the Occupying Power shall not come into force before they have been published and brought to the knowledge of the inhabitants in their own language. The effect of these penal provisions shall not be retroactive. Actually, slaves can be punished for a crime, even if they did not know that it was a crime (Luke 12:47-48). The death penalty may not be pronounced against a protected person unless the attention of the court has been particularly called to the fact that since the accused is not a national of the Occupying Power, he is not bound to it by any duty of allegiance. As demonstrated above, in many instances God wants enemy civilians to be killed. In any case, the death penalty may not be pronounced on a protected person who was under eighteen years of age at the time of the offence. Wrong - see Numbers 31:17-18, 1 Samuel 15:3. Art. 72. Accused persons shall have the right to present evidence necessary to their defence and may, in particular, call witnesses. They shall have the right to be assisted by a qualified advocate or counsel of their own choice, who shall be able to visit them freely and shall enjoy the necessary facilities for preparing the defence. Wrong. The decision will be made by the God fearing forces, and it can be as arbitrary as measuring the height of the enemy civilians (2 Samuel 8:2). Art. 75. In no case shall persons condemned to death be deprived of the right of petition for pardon or reprieve. No death sentence shall be carried out before the expiration of a period of a least six months from the date of receipt by the Protecting Power of the notification of the final judgment confirming such death sentence, or of an order denying pardon or reprieve. Section V. Information Bureaux and Central Agency Art. 136. Upon the outbreak of a conflict and in all cases of occupation, each of the Parties to the conflict shall establish an official Information Bureau responsible for receiving and transmitting information in respect of the protected persons who are in its power. The Bible doesn’t support this statement. |
Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
This is why bombs and land mines are so useful in warfare: there is little or nothing left of the enemy, therefore no reason to bury them or call mommie to let her know that Abdul has gone to his maker.

Praise the Lord. This is some inspired preaching, Pastor. This could easily become a three parter at the pulpit.
Thank you for sharing it with us first. |
Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Indeed, it always is exciting when Pastor Zeke gives us a "sneak peak" at his sermons before delivering them!
:Jumpy: I do have a question, though, about this business of killing a prisoner if he measures two lines, but keeping him as a slave if he's only one line. Do we have any information as to what that unit of measurement would be equal to in feet or inches? I figure since people were apparently shorter back then, we can probably assume an average adult male height of no more than six feet, and probably less. So just for the sake of argument, would I be correct in thinking that an adult male combatant probably measured two lines? So therefore half of that, one line, would probably be equal to 2.5 to 3 feet? In which case it would be OK for me to have a midget slave if I bested him in combat, yes? http://xe6.xanga.com/851f0bf57703521...m170515757.jpg |
Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
As always Pastor Ezekiel's sermons are as Godly as Jesus Himself!
Just imagine how much better the world would be if God's guidelines were followed all the time. Chronicles 15:13 "That whosoever would not seek the Lord God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman." There it is. Plain and simple. God wants all unbelievers dead. Women, children and unborn children included. These hippie "Geneva Conventions", no doubt created by the gay lobby, are keeping humanity back from creating Heaven on earth. Just imagine, 9/11 would have never happened, the Boston killings would have never happened. Those "peaceful" Geneva Conventions have killed decent Christian Republican Americans! |
Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Quote:
The Bible way is as always the correct way. Wars these days are like bloody football matches, and not gay soccer either, but True AMERICAN STYLE FOOTBALL, in the way that we have two teams fighting each other until one side wins, but then later on the two sides might have a rematch. Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Desert Storm II: Electric Bugaloo, and Operation Endearing Eagle are all the same war. If we went in the Bible way...shock and awe would never stop until you knew that enemy was done. There are no sanctions or rebuilding efforts wasting our tax dollars to refund the terrorists who plan to attack again at a later date--there is desolation and a lot of new land for the righteous to inhabit. Yes, wars fought under the Geneva convention still result in American deaths that are all too sad and numerous, but the consequences aren't the same. When going to war means a commitment to wiping out every single person in an enemy nation, America would remain steadfast in defending itself by declaring war on any attacking nation, such as Iraq, but instead of being handcuffed by some communist propaganda out of Geneva, we would fully support every single American soldier as he smites the heathens. This will force cowardly, piss ant countries like Iraq, to be very careful about starting trouble. The final result is less war overall and a more peaceful time world wide...or else. :lex_12: |
Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
What a beautiful sermon, Pastor Ezekiel!
It makes me cry to think that these Geneva [edited] are actually using the symbol of the martyrdom and death (albeit temporary) of our Savior Jesus Christ, as the symbol of their abomination: http://lowellredcross.webs.com/american-red-cross.jpg http://www.imemc.org/attachments/sep2012/icrc.jpg |

Re: Geneva Conventions vs. The Holy Bible
Pastor Ezekiel's sermons are always awe inspiring, but this one is particularly relevant to our future foreign policy. The termites of LIEberalism have become rampant in the last century and it is always a good reminder of what God did to the trouble makers of the world as set by example in the Holy Bible (KJV1611).
We could take a lesson from this as things would be better today if we had just wiped out Germany instead of sending them money in the Marshall Plan to rebuild. We wouldn't have any ungrateful krauts mocking us today. The same goes with Iraq - the price of gasoline would be much lower today if those mooselimbs had just been totally wiped out. It was interesting to read that God spared the Moabites (descendants of Lot), allowing them to be enslaved instead of being slaughtered. God was indeed showing mercy, and we can all take a lesson from this. I too in my youth had my seed forcibly taken from me by unsaved wenches getting me drunk. |

Quote:
II SAMUEL 8A line is about 4 inches. Having dumped your captive on the ground I understand that any upon examination who were less than 4" could be kept as they would not threaten the status quo. A wretch exceeding 8" would be killed. There might be a temple standard line of 8 inches or even longer but generally a line is about 4 inches and they usually occur in pairs so The Bible is consistent here. What happens to soldiers measured at between 4" and 8" (probably most soldiers in my experience) is anyone's guess. But what exactly is being measured? From your comments regarding stature in the ancient world I'm assuming it's footware based but that is just a guess and I have no wish to intrude opinion in any way but not much else would require being stretched out on the floor to be measured. I hope that is helpful. |
